Caught the start, recorded the rest. Nice to see my local prison still has a rugby set up.
Playing Aylesbury prison as a 17 year old grammar school boy was eye opening! Shame they stopped entering the leagues

Yes, that was a wild fixture. Absolutely terrifying going into the prison. Thankfully the guard waited until after the game to tell you what some of them were in for!Paddington Bear wrote: Thu Sep 28, 2023 5:51 am Caught the start, recorded the rest. The guards were the dirtiest players on the pitch! After a match there we mentioned that when their 10 got out they should put him in touch with us, only to be told we may be waiting some time as his offence was ‘axe related’Slick wrote: Thu Sep 28, 2023 8:09 amYes, that was a wild fixture. They were still playing in the Herts Merit Tables before Covid lockdown.Paddington Bear wrote: Thu Sep 28, 2023 5:51 am Caught the start, recorded the rest. Nice to see my local prison still has a rugby set up.

Yes, I remember learning, whilst relaxing having the cheap beers in the wardens mess room after the game, that the the full back had done unspeakable things to his mother! Being locked in the gym for ages while they let the prisoners shower and put them back in the cells, was not a highlight.Paddington Bear wrote: Thu Sep 28, 2023 10:42 amThe guards were the dirtiest players on the pitch!
