Cricket World Cup 2023 format

All 10 teams competing at this year's World Cup go into one big group stage in a round-robin format, where each team will face each other once.

Teams are awarded two points for a win, one for either a tie or a no-result and zero for a loss.

Once all 10 teams have played their nine group-stage matches, the four highest-ranked teams will advance to the semi-finals.

In the semi-finals, the team that finished first in the group stage will face the side that finished fourth, with second place taking on third place in the other semi-final.

The two winners of the semi-finals will face each other in the final, with the winner of the final being crowned ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 champions.

Cricket World Cup 2023: Ben Stokes a doubt for England's opener against New Zealand

Stokes has not played since hitting an England-record 182 in the third one-day international against New Zealand on 13 September, having sat out Monday's warm-up game against Bangladesh.

"He's got a slight niggle with his hip," said Buttler.

"But fingers crossed that it'll be good news for us. We'll see.

During the RWC.

Aside from India, that’s a stupidly large overlapping crowd base.

Is Afghanistan one of the ten best teams in the world now? Pretty rapid ascent for them, no?

Dear god Englands batting goes deep - Curran, Rashid and Wood at 9, 10 and 11.

You take one wicket and a match winner comes in. Frightening.

118/4 Moeen bowled.

NZ have done well to peg the run rate and pick up wickets.

Not an easy chase. Can't see if it is a par score. I guess it means that NZ don't have to go bollocks out to chase it down. But top 4 or 5 are going to have to play very well.

An absolute battering. NZ were very, very good, England weren't at the races.
