Which team will you support in the final and why.

I fear what back to back trophies would do to those Saffas who are already insufferable, so I guess New Zealand. It's a bit boring to see either of these sides collect the trophy again tbh.
Note I have been specific and not generalised all South African fans, if you find yourself irked by that above description you may want to consider how it is you support your nation.

Sit haar op die paal
Pretty much a toss up for me, but I went Boks. I like the way each team plays the game, and if I had my way we’d try to emulate the ABs (lol) more than the Boks, but I can relate more to the South African style if that makes sense.
Also, I’ve never been but I get vibes like South Africa is like a more exotic, Dutch-speaking Texas, at least among the rugby base. The team itself is bunch of big hairy hicks who look like they enjoy grilled meat and hunting, you got some black guys here and there for good measure…put aside the green shirts (and talent) and they look downright American.
I like seeing this final though (considering we’re not getting a new name on the trophy anyway), and it’s only fair that they’re #1 and #2 all time in Cup wins however things shake out on Saturday.

Four years ago the Bok backline didn't get the credit it deserved, it was all about the pack and their replacements. For me SA were all about de Allende, Am, Kolbe and Mapimpi, they were outstanding.
This time around their backline is still very good.
As a prop first, rugby fan second and Scotland fan third, I was almost standing and applauding in front of my tv at what Ox did to England in the semi final, it was nothing short of magnificent.
I like how New Zealand play the game, they've been the benchmark for so long and in changing the way the game is played too, for the better.
I'm thoroughly neutral on this

Oh ffs. What more do I need to dosefton wrote: Mon Oct 23, 2023 5:31 pm The All Blacks, because watching the Boks makes me feel like I’m watching England but in an alternate universe where we are a bit bigger, a bit faster, a bit stronger and didn’t have Farrell and Borthwick nailed on until the next World Cup.

ABs but honestly not that interested. Both would be very worthy winners, but meh. Rugby probably takes a back seat for a couple of weeks then I’ll get stuck into the Prem

As long as the match is more entertaining than those semi finals were, I don't really mind either way.
I voted ABs because I still haven't forgiven the Boks for turning the last Lions tour into a drudge fest.

You know there were two teams on the field for each test?Chrysoprase wrote: Mon Oct 23, 2023 9:29 pm I voted ABs because I still haven't forgiven the Boks for turning the last Lions tour into a drudge fest.
Dude....I will gladly take a 6 points to 5 victory if we win the RWC.......no-one will care about the match itself....just the resultChrysoprase wrote: Mon Oct 23, 2023 9:29 pm As long as the match is more entertaining than those semi finals were, I don't really mind either way.

England fans will care. Champagne Rugby is very important to them.

As creator of the pole, I change the rule after making 10 votes for my beloved Springbokke. Fuck know what is not to like about the way we play our rugby.Slick wrote: Tue Oct 24, 2023 1:47 pm Given the vast majority of the comments I think we have to be a little suspicious of how many “neutrals” have voted for SA![]()

All a little predictable mind you.

You are trying too hard, most of us don't mind losing popular opinion on a rugby site. We're more about how we feel about the Boks than how you feel about the Boks, if that makes sense to you.Slick wrote: Tue Oct 24, 2023 1:56 pmYou’re prerogative my friend.OomStruisbaai wrote: Tue Oct 24, 2023 1:54 pmAs creator of the pole, I change the rule after making 10 votes for my beloved Springbokke. So, sitting on the fence, gotcha, hopefully both teams can turn in a good game for yourobmatic wrote: Mon Oct 23, 2023 5:26 pm I went ABs but it was more marginal than it would have been in the past and I wouldn't mind SA winning either. Courtesy of the URC, I've been getting a lot more exposure to SA rugby recently and I appreciate it more now.
Is the correct answer - can't stand that Wyd Kant!
