Nope, not in the slightest. If you say 99 true things and slip up once, it doesn't negate the 99 true things. Dishonest and disingenuous people though tend to latch on to the one mistake and use it to obfuscate, rather than actually address the 99 accurate criticisms

Whilst I agree, it’s the same poster over multiple years over 2 boreds that this always happens to. He is either banned or this happens occasionally and I wouldn’t like to see him banned

You are right, of course, that Bimbo has been a hugely irritating presence for years. I confess to finding IH’s listings of numerous posts perhaps obsessive. But since Bimbo, as you say, has been doing this for years it would seem we should have learned by now not to feed his predeliction for perpetuating sterile arguments (ie. flogging dead horses). It’s not easy to resist joining in but I feel a better person for denying temptation.

He made a whole post of the fake quote, and it was by far one of the most questionable.

I’ve not even checked how many of the others are mine, what context and of course most aren’t even insults by any measure.
