The All Blacks look in good spirit after the loss. Not like the Poms after the previous World Cup.

Hasn't he taken this iteration of the ABs further than most suspected?
That lack of expectation may have been down to Foster right enough, but I'm not entirely convinced by that argument - this side isn't full of goats, or close to goats, like previous ABs winners were.
Well done Saffas.
Yeah, we far exceeded expectations. And so I’m not hugely disappointed like I normally am. That is compounded with the constant experience of losing.Tichtheid wrote: Sat Oct 28, 2023 9:30 pmYmx wrote: Sat Oct 28, 2023 9:14 pm The one good thing about Foster is that he’s conditioned us to losing. Right? If winning the Rugby Championship every year since the last world cup never dropping lower than 4th in the world rankings is constant losing, sign me up..

Got home from nightshift all fucked up and sleep deprived, almost seeing double for it...
watched it live. Got more and more intense as it went on... those last 15 minutes were insane. Just switched off at FT and tried to sleep with varying success
Incredible game to watch for us involved fans. Some comments on the match thread from 'neutrals' early on complaining about a boring game soon dried up as the game wore on. No real complaints from me with our cards sadly deserved (and we knew discipline was a weakness going into this) although the YC for Kolisi could easily have gone RC as well, you just don't know how the reviews might turn out...
end of the day it was a colossal contest between the two best teams in the game and one most of us Kiwis could never have dreamed of making 6 months out. Getting there was a pleasant surprise... not winning it was a bit, meh still love the game vibe for me.

The lads went deeper into this tournament than I expected, raising our expectations with each game but from a relatively low bar. I loved how the AB forwards and replacements effectively defused the threat of the Bomb Squad and we came so close (if either the one missed conversion or the one missed penalty had gone over).
No arguments with the Bok victory and love that Kolisi now joins Richie as victorious captain at two consecutive WCs. That is an amazing achievement.

You’re never going to be my favourite team, but back to back world cups with a Lions tour in the middle is incredibly special and may never be repeated. They showed incredible mental fortitude to close out three one point games and as a result are worthy winners. Congratulations
Old men forget: yet all shall be forgot, But he'll remember with advantages, What feats he did that day
Thank vok.
Don't need support from the French and English supporters. Terrible bad losers
