It's good to see the Italian sides win when you don't have a dog in the fight.
This evening was a proper slog for them, & the atmosphere in the stadium sounds brilliant

Congrats to Benneton. Stormers at least get a bonus-point for their effort. Hard one next week against Munster.
Should give it back for being stupid. Turned down 3 easy shots at goal in the last 15. Admittedly so did the Italians twice.OomStruisbaai wrote: Sat Nov 11, 2023 4:46 pm Congrats to Benneton. Stormers at least get a bonus-point for their effort.
I didn't see the match but I saw zilocchi went off quite soon after coming on, was he injured?OomStruisbaai wrote: Sat Nov 11, 2023 4:46 pm Congrats to Benneton. Stormers at least get a bonus-point for their effort. Hard one next week against Munster.

Whitehouse is consistently shite for all involved. Not sure Edinburgh are getting particularly shafted, he is just baffling in what he sees every time. Why he is considered a top class ref I’ll never know.TheNatalShark wrote: Sat Nov 11, 2023 8:07 pm Connaught playing Whitehouse and friends like a fiddle

The Connaught is a Hotel in London.
The song 'It's a Long Way to Tipperary' became popular and associated with WW1 through being the marching song of the Connaught Rangers. It then passed in the british Military repertoire where it survived the passing of the Irish regiments.PornDog wrote: Mon Nov 13, 2023 12:47 pmConnacht.TheNatalShark wrote: Sun Nov 12, 2023 12:11 amYeah I didn't think Edinburgh were being shafted, just Connaught playing the margins with a lot of confidence and getting rewarded Vs Edinburgh shying a bit to let him second guessKingBlairhorn wrote: Sat Nov 11, 2023 8:25 pm

Not many people know that.
And that the Tipperary referred to in the song, wasn't the County in Ireland but a district in Soho, so named for the number of Irish people who lived there at the time, and home to many pubs and brothels. So for the soldier passing through London, it was indeed "Farewell to Piccadilly, and Goodbye Leicester Square" as he ran as fast as his legs could take him the long way to Tipperary !weegie01 wrote: Mon Nov 13, 2023 2:33 pmThe song 'It's a Long Way to Tipperary' became popular and associated with WW1 through being the marching song of the Connaught Rangers. So few people know this that every source on the internet I have looked at says it was originally a ballad of longing for home in Tipperary which an Irishman in London was a long way from.Camroc2 wrote: Mon Nov 13, 2023 4:29 pmAnd that the Tipperary referred to in the song, wasn't the County in Ireland but a district in Soho, so named for the number of Irish people who lived there at the time, and home to many pubs and brothels.
