Well they gave it a fair shake......just a shame that some of the lads couldn't chime in with a quick fire 30 or so. Too many double wickets.

Gotta say - India got the toss they wanted, pitch they wanted and rattled up almost 400.....and NZ still made them tense up a bit.
I can't help but think bringing Latham in after Williamson fell was a wrong call. Maybe bringing in Chapman or Phillips to just go ballistic for hopefully 5 or 6 overs might have changed to the game a little?

Unlucky boets, you had them worried and gave us hope for a long time. Top effort.

Well that sucks. Still, I was pleasantly surprised we made the top four.
Didn't really expect us to win, tbh. I woke up at 3am, checked the HT score, saw India's huge total, and went straight back to sleep.
Best of luck to our ANZAC brothers tonight.

A lot of India supporters at work today. Tomorrow I will wear my Protea shirt to support the good guys.
We owe the Aussies in knock out WCs.
Gibbs dropping the WC and Alsn Donald springs to mind.

I watched the Indian innings in awe -- every batsman was in superb form. Santner was very handy with the ball.
I woke a couple of times in the night and saw a bit of Williamson and Mitchell giving India a few palpitations till Shami turned up for his second spell.
Can't say I was surprised at India's win but was pretty pleased with the BCs' performance.

South Africa win the toss and will bat. Temba Bavuma says weather came into his thinking, but going with the team's strength. Says he's not 100% fit. "Will have to be good enough," he adds.

Drizzle. The agony will be back on again soon enough.
DLS?
He was thinking about South Africa's terrible record trying to chase in this WC; his only thought was 'bat first, bat first' regardless of the conditions.Sandstorm wrote: Thu Nov 16, 2023 9:22 am CHOKE!!!!
Bravo Temba - choose to bat on this wicket with those overhead conditions. Twat. Shouldn't even be playing with a thigh (and probable brain) injury anyway.

Proteas masterfully dodge the hattrick, and Miller brings up his fifty. Is the tide turning?Insane_Homer wrote: Thu Nov 16, 2023 11:26 amyour wicketGumboot wrote: Thu Nov 16, 2023 11:23 amBuilding at a steady pace and retaining wickets for a final charge.
