This is when the real supporters stand up.TheNatalShark wrote: Tue Nov 21, 2023 12:54 pmThe Sharks have been transitioning for year's now. That's the problem. There doesn't appear to be anything in the toolkit to make a change.lemonhead wrote: Sun Nov 19, 2023 11:23 pm If transition's going to yield anything it'll be a lot of short term pain up front.
Munster had exactly the same start last year. Lost all our home preseason friendlies and 3 from 4 in the league. Looked unfit, lacking basic skills, thinking way too hard and execution was cack. Copped a huge amount of abuse. Performances only started picking up in December and we weren't humming till the new year, with another big wobble in March.
Never easy being the laughing stock but they need to stick with it.
Whilst I don't have faith in Plum, no reason in Powell, didn't in Everitt and lost in du Preez before that, the Sharks have fundamental problems at flyhalf that are killing the team. It means we can't generate a gameplan that suits the coach nor players. Too flaky a kicker, too poor a game manager.
Have had some genuinely great squads the last few years. Achieved nothing as the game plan (when there is one) nearly always falls apart. And I don't think the squad is good now, some standouts that won't play enough and will be drowned out.
I look forward to every match and seeing Wright play. He has more heart than most of the side, you can see he actually cares and believes, if we had a team of players with his determination we would've won matches this season. Hard too, like players from south Durban always are: Marcell Coetzee, Kyle Cooper, Waylon Murray, Warren Whiteley, Shaun Payne, BJ Botha. A team of players like that would win a lot. Rassie knows it too, I think one of reasons he hasn't give the Du Preez brothers much of a run is because they went to private school, he maybe thinks they're mentally weak (all those south Durban players I listed went to state schools).
Sharks now have these 9s: Wright, Williams, Hendrikse, Hougaard jr. You should soon get your wish and one the few players in our squad that would be there giving everything even if we were on the scrapheap and only had the Currie Cup like the Cheetahs, will not make the 23. We will then select 9s which can suffer from "confidence issues" and other mental kak, and Wright will again fight his way back into the 23 because he's harder than the rest.

The only reason I spend so much time on here is my enjoyment of discussing rugby with people from around the world. When it reverts to tit for tat stuff, I don't know how people keep it up. Life is too short!
RDP really has matured and improved as a player in the UK. The move has been very good for him. [and the twins]. The interesting thing is going to be what happens to them if the salary cap in the Prem Div is lowered or the RFU lower the number of non English players in a squad.assfly wrote: Wed Nov 22, 2023 5:00 amMoving to the $harks was a great decision for him. Do they go to France or Japan or come home?
I don't think the salary cap is going to affect them that much. Given the exchange rate, and the fact that they're not Sprinboks, I don't think they'll be the first out. Especially when you've got players like George Ford, Tom Curry and Tuilagi in their squad.Chilli wrote: Wed Nov 22, 2023 9:28 am RDP really has matured and improved as a player in the UK. You see? Was me mentioning RdP now negative? He played very well on the weekend as you can see on the HLs. In the mean time Curwin had a vokken shocker. Tell you what, I wont ever contribute or mention your tedious Sharks team and players ever. They can vokken stay at the bottom of the log for all I worry.assfly wrote: Wed Nov 22, 2023 9:33 amI don't think the salary cap is going to affect them that much. Somewhat fortunately I will likely miss Plum's follow up attempt this weekend at integrating the Boks. Doing something slightly more enjoyable in the form of getting shelled driving a medical van around Donetsk.
Wesley Dunlop was the one I always rated who never got much of a chance at the Sharks, did well with College Rovers, ended up in France.TheNatalShark wrote: Wed Nov 22, 2023 1:39 pm Just want to let you know I'm here for you. Good luck in Donetsk! But remember when you're driving around dodging Russian artillery and surprise human wave attacks by hordes of Russian prisoners sharing one gun between five men ... Dylan Richardson will be available for the Boks by the end of 2024, like Wright he's from Durban and has a lot of heart, plays every match for the Sharks full on. You will be missing out not seeing him at hooker.
Quite funny that the eligibility changes could end up making the Boks stronger, there's a lot of our guys that get capped not many times by other sides and are then discarded, who would've never been capped so quickly for the Boks. But they're then a test capped player, experienced, still young enough, and a hole appears in the Bok squad.
$harks team for tomorrow:
Much stronger team. God I hope this is the match we turn things around.
Dylan Richardson out for 8 weeks.
When the fuck did Lappies Labuschagné sign for us?15 Aphelele Fassi, 14 Werner Kok, 13 Lukhanyo Am (c), 12 Francois Venter, 11 Makazole Mapimpi, 10 Curwin Bosch, 9 Jaden Hendrikse, 8 Sikhumbuzo Notshe, 7 Phepsi Buthelezi, 6 James Venter, 5 Emile van Heerden, 4 Eben Etzebeth, 3 Coenie Oosthuizen, 2 Fez Mbatha, 1 Ntuthuko Mchunu.
Subs: 16 Dan Jooste, 17 Ox Nche, 18 Hanro Jacobs, 19 Corne Rahl, 20 Jeandre Labuschagne, 21 Grant Williams, 22 Boeta Chamberlain, 23 Rohan Janse van Rensburg.

Ordinarily I'd be
, but this season there's been a lot more fight about the Italian sides, & I think the battle for the playoffs is going to be a massive dogfight.

Glasgow beat Benetton last week collecting all 5 points ( and Glasgow really didn't play that well )
Benetton have improved, and will most likely make the playoff as will Edinburgh - but we can probably pick the Top six now - with a dogfight only for the last couple of places

It stings for the first few losses and after awhile your expectations change.

Weird Munster team. Zebo? Did somebody forget to tell payroll that he's retired?
Nice to see our South African sides winning this weekend.
That waa a phenomenal effort from the Sharks. Turned around a - 51 points difference to make it a plus 4 points difference. 59 points difference in the match.
Fantastic effort from the Bulls and Lions too. Some real cricket scores

Leinster are making 10x more mistakes than they usually do.
It's a familiar story of them bringing players back before the European matches start to give them game time, but Munster are really up for it, & this could be a nailbiter

That's Conor Murray in a nutshell.
Smart enough to see the gap & get thru it, but not fast enough to get to the line, & then he was glacial at each of the rucks, so Leinster were able to push Munster back until they got the penalty.
He's a luxury Munster can't afford anymore
