Api Ratuniyarawa, 37, admitted two counts of assault by penetration and one of sexual assault at Revolution between 31 October and 2 November 2023.

He was sentenced to two years and 10 months at Cardiff Crown Court on Tuesday.

The court heard the three attacks happened independently of each other, on three separate nights in the same bar.

All incidents were caught on CCTV, and none of the victims - who were all 19 - knew Ratuniyarawa or each other beforehand.

Ratuniyarawa attacked a third woman, again in the VIP area of the bar, in a "painful" assault which left her "bleeding".

Mr Edwards said the victim told him to stop "several times", and that "he only stopped when others at the bar intervened".

....

One woman read out her victim impact statement in court, describing the attack on her as "humiliating".

Her studies at university had been affected, and she now often became "anxious and stressed" when she went out.

She added that she was also suffering from hair loss, difficulty eating and sleeping.

"This is the worst possible thing he could have done to me," she said.

"He's ruined my life by what he's done."
Sentence seems a bit light.

Read that yesterday.

Offences were over three separate nights in the same bar. Really grim read and surprised he didn't get longer.

On the rare occasion there's a successful prosecution, sentencing for rape seems on the low side, so, sadly, I'm not surprised about ostensibly lenient sentencing for what's often seen as a lesser offence.

The ostensibly calculated nature of going out three nights on the trot to assault is obviously awful and it's crazy that he could serve as little as half the already light tariff for it actually in prison.

Yeah, it would still be an awful crime if the three offences had been during one night where he was off his face and had no recollection.

Them being over three consecutive nights though is really sinister and suggests pre meditation and a pattern of behaviour. He sounds like a pretty dangerous individual.

Why the hell did the bar keep letting him in!
Give a man a fire and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

Another scandal!!
Less than 2% of rape accusations end up in court. Of wich only 60% end up with a conviction

Sentencing for sexual offences is disgracefully lenient.

It is appalling, Ive seem them get community sentences for similar offences. Soon as a defence solicitor stands up and waffles on about mental health the judges shit themselves.
