Piss right off.
Are you genuinely saying that this wasn't happening?
Against the B&I Lions it was most definitely happening. It was a tactic that had to be used at the time to compensate for the Springboks' poor conditioning leading into that tournament...and also because half of the test side had recoevred from Covid 2 weeks before the first test!

Since then this notion that the Boks are "slowing the game down" is a very persistent myth. They are quite often pushing the pace as there is little advantage in slowing things down and allowing the opposition forwards to recover, when we have a fresh bench to bring on! How does that even make sense logically?

A stat that somehow proves how the Boks are slowing things down is how long a half of rugby takes and a good example being the match vs the All Blacks at Twickenham which took about an hour. But when you look closely it wasn't the Boks slowing that game down. The stoppages were due to an All Black injuries (around 10 minutes) and repeated penalties (leading to a yellow card) in the first 20 minutes. The stats show that teams concede more penalties against the Boks than against any other opposition. Teams tend to infringe a lot when when the Boks try to up the tempo.

But like some of the other myths surrounding Bok rugby these things persist, regardless of the evidence to the contrary, and that's fine. It's actually to our advantage if the opposition believes it. But then again I'm sure the other coaches are smarter than the fans and know that it's all BS.
It's the very reason I didn't even bother Blake to respond Blake, it keeps popping up every now and again. Let them hang on to that perception, don't know how it actually helps, but whatever floats their boat I guess.

4 week ban after all.
Lock Josh Caulfield has been banned for four matches after EPCR appealed the disciplinary hearing decision to rescind the red card brandished to the Bristol player in last month’s Investec Champions Cup loss to Connacht.
“They determined that the case should be reheard afresh by a new disciplinary committee at the earliest possible convenience. The new hearing took place on Wednesday, January 31, with Katherine Mackie (Scotland, chair), Mirian Tavzarashvili (Georgia) and Valeriu Toma (Romania) appointed as the independent disciplinary committee.

“The committee heard evidence from the player and also heard submissions from the player’s legal representative, Sam Jones, Bristol director of rugby Pat Lam and from the EPCR disciplinary officer, Liam McTiernan.

“The committee determined that Caulfield had committed an act of foul play in contravention of law 9.12 and that a red card was warranted. The committee then determined that the offending was at the mid-range entry point of World Rugby’s sanctions and six weeks was selected as the appropriate entry point.

The way the game is refereed is that conceding a try is enough, teams usually escape a card in that case. The card is given if a try is denied

Usually.
Nah. See plenty of cases where a try and a yellow are given. It's hardly unique. It was cynical play too

I genuinely haven't seen "plenty" of those, not when the try is scored.
There's one for you in the game tonight...

Ha, it was indeed.

If you're keeping score you'll need to count how many times it doesn't happen to give some sort of real perspective on it.

Got my tickets booked for finals weekend. Not much chance of Glasgow being in it, but one can dream. I'm going anyway.

Glasgow have a much better chance then the Stormers.

The best however is not to look further then next game.

Yellow Storm warning for Irish East coast, & Orange warning for West coast, so don't expect the Leinster game to be a classic.

Yeah, some poor play by Glasgow at times but they are being ridden by the ref and the TMO.

That was stupid & impatient by the Glasgow hooker; he was always going to be isolated at this level of game

It's the penalties that are not being given to Glasgow - Marcus Smith with a no arms tackle there. a minute or two ago there was a block preventing Glasgow clearing out at a ruck on the Quins line. There were countless episodes in the first half
