There has been a swing to Sadiq Khan in the two areas which have declared.
In Merton and Wandsworth, there was a 5.1% swing to Labour from the Conservatives. In Greenwich and Lewisham, there was a 4.5% swing to Labour.
Remember; the Tories needed a swing to take this race. Labour are feeling confident - and these results show why.
Stop voting for fucking Tories
Khan gains a borough. Will be interesting to see which way the outer "Ulez" boroughs go
Edit: and another.Sadiq Khan has won in West Central (Hammersmith and Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea, Westminster), taking it from the Conservatives.
Khan has received 11,076 more votes than Hall. In 2021, Tory Shaun Bailey beat Khan in this constituency.
In 2024:
Sadiq Khan: 54,481
Susan Hall: 43,405
Versus 2021 first prefs:
Sadiq Khan: 51,508
Shaun Bailey 53,713
… Another mayoral election result has been declared and this time it’s the North East (Hackney, Islington, Waltham Forest):
Sadiq Khan – 127,455
Susan Hall – 34,099
Voter turnout in this constituency was 39.57%.

Don't worry, the bots have been hard at work on the stolen election narrative since yesterday evening.

To be fair, Reform exists solely to.push the Overton window ever rightwards. The likes of Tice and Farage don't actually want to do anything to change matters themselves (see Farage's trumpeting about EU fishing quotas as opposed to his attendance at meetings about them), they just want to poison wells and muddy pools to force others to do the dirty work. Much more money and notoriety in that._Os_ wrote: Sat May 04, 2024 1:55 pm Lets see how well DAC's right wing populist uprising is going. Oh ...

And yet the media will continue to give them such a disproportionate amount of air time that you could forgive someone for thinking Reform actually are the UK's third party and not a far right non-entity._Os_ wrote: Sat May 04, 2024 1:55 pm Lets see how well DAC's right wing populist uprising is going. Not that I've watched every minute of electoral coverage, but where I have dipped in, Tice has been interviewed twice yet no sign of a Green or Lib Dem.

Where did the rumors of the London race being tight come from ?
Khan won at a canter, which was pretty much what the polls said all along, & what most peoples gut feeling was as well.

Long may it continue it the saturation makes the rigjt vote for these arse clowns then it's a win win.sockwithaticket wrote: Sat May 04, 2024 3:13 pmAnd yet the media will continue to give them such a disproportionate amount of air time that you could forgive someone for thinking Reform actually are the UK's third party and not a far right non-entity._Os_ wrote: Sat May 04, 2024 1:55 pm Lets see how well DAC's right wing populist uprising is going. It helps Labour and the Lib Dems.
Blackpool South shows that Reform can severely haemorrhage the Tory vote.
It's going to be a tough time in Central Office for Rishi and his poor broken fellows.
Surely a few more defections on the cards s more Tory MPs touting for work.
These results are more positive than Starmer could have ever imagined.
Rishi will be having nightmares.
The recriminations over the racist bitch Hall will resonate for ages.
I knew he would and it was all bullshit and bluster.fishfoodie wrote: Sat May 04, 2024 3:23 pm Where did the rumors of the London race being tight come from ?

Never bought into it at all.
The red wall is now demolished and the cities are very red.
Hopefully the Tories are toast.

It's certainly serving a purpose for now, but UKIP also enjoyd this sort of coverage out of all proportion with their electoral achievements and look where that took us... Admittedly there's no longer a referendum over EU membership to agitate for and it's unlikely that the side they cannibalise from will be in power for a while and thus won't feel the pressure to introduce such a lunatic idea, but it remains something to be wary of.C69 wrote: Sat May 04, 2024 3:23 pmLong may it continue it the saturation makes the rigjt vote for these arse clowns then it's a win win.sockwithaticket wrote: Sat May 04, 2024 3:13 pmAnd yet the media will continue to give them such a disproportionate amount of air time that you could forgive someone for thinking Reform actually are the UK's third party and not a far right non-entity._Os_ wrote: Sat May 04, 2024 1:55 pm Lets see how well DAC's right wing populist uprising is going. I also suspect a party like the Greens might quite like to have their profile boosted a bit by receiving coverage that's even somewhat commensurate with their proportion of the vote.
My worries were from first hand interactions with voters, some people were so angry about ULEZ it was a bit Alf Garnettfishfoodie wrote: Sat May 04, 2024 3:23 pm Where did the rumors of the London race being tight come from ?

We can use it as a basic filter for morons. you have to be Better than Binface.
You’,re about as subtle as a bucket of pig shit
Ok, stalker.
Yeah, I still work in London my daughters live in London, all of my socialising is in London. I was born there too if that makes any difference. Our current live construction project is in London, as I said in my intro post the mosque I’m involved with is in London too.
When I was looking to buy a farm there weren’t really any available in London (there are some, but nothing suitable came up)
When we moved from London we had lots of friends saying shit like, yeah good move it’s getting so rough round here, wouldn’t want my daughters going out round here. This was in 2005, we worry more about our daughters going out round here than in London
I’ve travelled quite a lot in my life and I’ve never found a place I love as much.
What exactly is your point, specifically ?
Lived there for about 6 years in the early noughties.
Still have to travel in occasionally for occasional meetings.
Been stabbed there in fact. But a long time ago before it was really dangerous. Brixton. Urban kid nicking my phone.
I’m 59, never been stabbed in London,. Had a few racist beatings though, thankfully not since the 80s.Ymx wrote: Sat May 04, 2024 5:40 pm Lived there for about 6 years in the early noughties.
