It isn't really. You are never really going to pick up and isolate the vaccines negative impacts from the multitude of variables. The scientists are mostly just being polite.
How do you guys know? Did you go into all of them, strike up conversations with them and then stear it towards where it is that they came from?
I mean its not impossible or anything, but all just seems rather unlikely.
You two must be the best groomed fancy boys about town!
Syrian lad used to cut my hair before I just started taking a razor to it. Really good lad, set up on his own after being in a turkish barber locally, very popular, involved in the local community. Covid I think buggered him up though, not seen him around for a while.
And are there two g’s in Bugger Off?
You don't talk to your barber?? He asked me where I was from first time I went in, I did likewise. Have a grand chat with the guys every 5 weeks; they give me a lager while they cut my hair and we listen to Kurdish House tunes together. I don't talk to 12 different ones about town, no.Sandstorm wrote: Thu Jun 06, 2024 5:23 pmYou don't talk to your barber?? He asked me where I was from first time I went in, I did likewise. I do realise now re-reading your post, that you may have meant that the gentlemen that work in your particular local barbers are from Iraq. I had taken you up as meaning that "all of the barber shops in my area" are staffed by Iraqis, similar to what TB was saying. So apologies if I read you wrong.
NP mate. There's Turks, Iraqis, Afghans and even a bloke from Ivory Coast wielding the scissors in our town. All the blokes at work have their favourite, different barber shops - especially the hipsters who like a beard trimming.

I see Dr Michael Mosely's body has been found on Symi, less than 10 meters from Symi town and potential safety. Likely to have died of heatstroke. Whilst he seemed reasonably well equipped with his sun brolly it's sadly another example of the "mad dogs and Englishmen" saying.
The suspicious ex detective in me says there will be slightly more to the reasons for his attempts to walk back to town other than the going for a stroll suggestion.

The body wasn't that close to Symi or Pedi, the last town he was seen in, but it was only a few metres away from a bar at Agia Marina beach (lying just outside the fence around the bar area), so even closer to safety.Blackmac wrote: Sun Jun 09, 2024 10:32 am I see Dr Michael Mosely's body has been found on Symi, less than 10 meters from Symi town and potential safety. I'm not too far away from Symi as the crow flies and it's been hot as balls here for the last week. I can't imagine going for a long stroll at noon - you start feeling it really quickly.Blackmac wrote: Sun Jun 09, 2024 10:32 am I see Dr Michael Mosely's body has been found on Symi, less than 10 meters from Symi town and potential safety. Apologies, when they said the marina, I presumed the main one down at Symi. I know where you are now as we popped in there on a boat trip.Lobby wrote: Sun Jun 09, 2024 10:42 amThe body wasn't that close to Symi or Pedi, the last town he was seen in, but it was only a few metres away from a bar at Agia Marina beach (lying just outside the fence around the bar area), so even closer to safety.Blackmac wrote: Sun Jun 09, 2024 10:32 am I see Dr Michael Mosely's body has been found on Symi, less than 10 meters from Symi town and potential safety. We went to Symi three years ago in June and I think it was pretty close to being the hottest few days I have ever experienced. I went for an early morning hike to explore the small buildings on the hill above the harbour and it just about floored me.

Sad news that raises all sorts of questions. I've been following the story and not being familiar with that part of the world, googled up. Looking at the map of the area it's hard to believe anyone could be struck down with heatstroke with buildings and people all around... especially someone with a medical background who must have realised he was in some degree of distress. The heat can knock you around of course, but it's not instant. I wonder if he might have suffered heart issues or perhaps something like a stroke?Blackmac wrote: Sun Jun 09, 2024 2:12 pmApologies, when they said the marina, I presumed the main one down at Symi. Here's a question for the big brains on here.
WTF do I need a Philips head screwdriver to open a UK/IE Plug, & Loosen the cable, but a slot head screwdriver to loosen the terminals ???
Why couldn't they just use Philips screws throughout ?

It's to prevent over torquing the terminal head.fishfoodie wrote: Sun Jun 09, 2024 7:46 pm Here's a question for the big brains on here.

Has anyone any experience of trying to provoke being offered redundancy, without giving their employers an opportunity to fire them for cause ?
As I mentioned previously, we've had another major RIF, & now I'm one of the few left behind, & frankly don't feel like hanging around another six months, & would much prefer to have the summer off !
.... as it happens, at the end of last week into my inbox dropped a request for a meeting with the manager just below our CIO, boy would I love to give them a piece of my mind; but I'm so pissed off at the moment, I think I'm just going to turn off my few very filters, & give honest responses to any questions, which might just get me fired, but I really just couldn't give a fuck at the moment, even though I would prefer to take the cash & run.

Yep, I did about 30 years ago from a Bank. Got 6 months pay to leave after I warned the union about upcoming redundancies. Bosses were not happy so after they informed the staff affected (I refused to do that), I asked for a redundancy offer. I had it in 30 minutes, asked to chat to the wife, asked them to double it and they did.
They tried to insert a clause about not getting involved in upcoming litigation from the other staff but I just crossed that out and signed the form.
Started my own business 4 weeks later.

From what I can recall of our visit I don't think there would be anyone actually living where he was found it was just a bar/restaurant on a very secluded beach so if he has arrived after everyone left?
If you look at the pictures it is just not a route and sane person would attempt to hike, for no reason in the middle of the day. The whole thing just defies logic.
Funny thing with him, he kind of flew under the radar up here for a little while because of the superstars that played alongside him, then almost at once everyone realised how important he was
Very true, often wondered why they couldn't find anyone else, then he ended up one of my favourite players of all time.Tichtheid wrote: Mon Jun 10, 2024 1:43 pm

Philips screws actually aren't great for camming out either. They came about because Henry Ford didn't want to pay for Robertson screws.fishfoodie wrote: Sun Jun 09, 2024 10:49 pmDamn you with your sensible, logical response !!! < shakes fist >Uncle fester wrote: Sun Jun 09, 2024 10:32 pm Note that quite a lot of modern "Philips screws" are actually pozidrive screws.

Nah, he's reffing women for fun is my guess. However, if he starts to enjoy it, who knows.
I see that Glen Jackson has now moved from player, to ref to coach as he is taking over the reins with the Drua next season

Quite an interesting career progression for Glen Jackson. The reason I ended up staying in the BoP is I have a mate here, we worked together in WA and later in SA. His recently deceased Dad was friends with GJ, he used to work for him occasionally on his farm up the back of Whakamarama... it's a weirdly small world at times.GJ was assistant coach at the Drua this year I think, under Mick Byrne, who is moving to take over the national team. I hope it goes well for everyone involved, there's been some serious development work put into the Drua with obvious progress made.Enzedder wrote: Tue Jun 11, 2024 7:26 am Nah, he's reffing women for fun is my guess.
