it's not quite a knockout, but hoping for a good game. England showing signs of old form over last couple of games but they're not fully clicking yet.

In very much sadder news, Syd Lawrence diagnosed with MND.

Clown show by Wood. Clear sight of the ball and whether it touched the ground should never have been in question.

Archer in to save the day. If he can stay fit for more than 1 ball

Hard to know who blew that most. Until the 17th over I was happy to say that SA were bowling brilliantly, but frankly Baartman's horror show there should have gone for more than 21 - only 1 6 from 5 rank full tosses. And then Livingstone holes out to another that should have gone for 6 in the next over.

But to subside from needing 25 off 18 to needing 13 off 4 is just dismal - 12 runs off 14 deliveries. The bowling was good but it shouldn't really matter when you only need just over 8 an over off the last 3.

Good win for SA, who twice looked like they had thrown it away. Ugly game to watch though, some very fine players and Bairstow scratching around and mishitting constantly

Altho the Proteas are still unbeaten , they are far from playing fully to their potential. At the moment it's individual performers to their rescue. Probably a good sign. Hit form when it matters. Nothing beats knocking Australia or India over.

You might want to consider a more contextual time frame. He is the epitome of a sick note.

When Afghanistan beat NZ it was a surprise.

Now they have delivered a shock by beating Aussie

I’d take the piss out of Australia, however SA might meet Afghans in the semi and we hate low, slow bowling.

England putting USA away and Proteas will need to beat West India to qualify. Choke coming up.

Stubbs annoys me. Can’t hit with the middle of the bat. He’s like a tail-ender who uses up a lot of dot balls, then hits the occasional boundary into row 20.

Klaassen did his job well and brought us to a run a ball. Vokken easy stuff then Miller and Stubbs try to hit 6e and straight down the fielders throat. They should just calm down and do whats required. Jansen just look calm and collective and do the job with ease.
