Fatty's on bikes are always funny. I once saw a fatty on a Vespa doing about 45 on a main road close by. You could hardly se the scooter, it was like he "swallowed" it. It looked like he grew wheels out of his arsehole and was riding around on his bum.sorCrer wrote: Wed Sep 23, 2020 5:36 pmaverage joe wrote: Wed Sep 23, 2020 12:39 pm I would only watch MotoGP if Malherbe was one of the riders.![]()

Looks like the 2020 Superugby Champions have a few injuries for the game against the Bulls today. With Mapimpi in Japan?
Might help even it up, but I think we can all agree Jake the Snake needs a proper introduction.

Shit is getting real in Senekal. It's a very volatile situation and certain politicians seem hell bent on stoking the flames instead of trying to de-escalate.

That story is shocking. Surely we have reached a tipping point by now?handyman wrote: Thu Oct 08, 2020 7:00 am A kid was murdered and displayed on a pole. People are angry and rightfully so.
I can totally see their frustration and helplessness and can't blame them for using EFF style tactics as it seems to be the only way to get attention these days.

If saner minds don't prevail and attempt to de-escalate this situation stupid Julius is going to start a war here.
I see he's already on the bandwagon calling them cowards. If those two groups meet in the streets it could get very ugly.average joe wrote: Thu Oct 08, 2020 7:22 am If saner minds don't prevail and attempt to de-escalate this situation stupid Julius is going to start a war here.
Pity there isn't another racist shampoo advert to divert their attention.
You've got it spot on. The EFF and ANC are fuelling the fires by questioning why the farmers resorted to burning of a police vehicle and damage to the courtroom. As if this is the first time such acts are committed in SA.assfly wrote: Thu Oct 08, 2020 7:08 amThat story is shocking. Problem is I don't think there's anyone who can go to calm things down. Farmers are gatvol of politicians denying that white farmers are being murdered and down playing the severity of the problem or treating them like second rate citizens and telling they must "passop or they'll get hurt"assfly wrote: Thu Oct 08, 2020 7:28 amI see he's already on the bandwagon calling them cowards. I am very worried about this. It only takes one idiot, from either extreme of the political spectrum, to ignite a volatile situation.
I have already heard comments where people are saying that Senekal happened because of one white death, implying that the one death is more important than all the scores of black people who are murdered. This is obviously not true as the farming community have just had enough, but perceptions are reality.
As a farm owner I get equally pissed off with the internet warriors who change profile pics and get outraged and want to declare war in solidarity with farmers. Where were you at 03h00 this morning when I left my family alone to patrol my and my neighbors’ perimeters?
Rural safety is becoming a vessel for persons who feel victimised by the whole BLM thing etc., based along racial lines. This is going to take the focus away from where the problem lies, being rural security, which will end up further harming farming communities. There is no leadership.
All we need now is for Steve to become the voice of farmers. Lord help us.

Rural Safety is just so very difficult because of the vastness of our country, the remoteness of the farms and the brutalilty of the attacks.

Exactly. Part of the problem with the current government is that they don't distinguish between the two either.Chilli wrote: Thu Oct 08, 2020 8:59 am

However the underlying issue is about LAND. So there is no way they are going to take the side of the White farmer. They'd lose 5+ million votes overnight and the EFF will pick up all those voters on the back of it.
I agree with all of that, except that this is about land. That is a narrative that has been constructed and is not he reality on the ground. Having land does not equal having a job, or having money, or having food.Sandstorm wrote: Thu Oct 08, 2020 9:31 am However the underlying issue is about LAND. I agree. These are criminal acts. . Savage and brutal criminal acts. The farmers are easy targets. They tend to have cash & firearms and because of their remoteness there is no response when they are attacked.assfly wrote: Thu Oct 08, 2020 9:42 amI agree with all of that, except that this is about land. You're both right, but if you (or 'Tsek) is hoping for a political intervention from the government - even just admitting these are criminal acts - you better find a comfy place to wait.Chilli wrote: Thu Oct 08, 2020 9:59 amI agree. I don't know any farmers that keep cash anymore. We purposefully don't sell off our land anymore. Any farmer that does is stupid and looking for kak. Everything is done electronically like any other business. Even the farmers with workers around me uses e-wallet to pay their people.
We all know that this is not going to happen.Sandstorm wrote: Thu Oct 08, 2020 10:48 amYou're both right, but if you (or 'Tsek) is hoping for a political intervention from the government - even just admitting these are criminal acts - you better find a comfy place to wait.Chilli wrote: Thu Oct 08, 2020 9:59 amI agree. Of couse not. That's the tragic thing about this situation - it's a zero sum game where nobody wins.Sandstorm wrote: Thu Oct 08, 2020 10:48 am You're both right, but if you (or 'Tsek) is hoping for a political intervention from the government - even just admitting these are criminal acts - you better find a comfy place to wait.
Definitely not waiting for political intervention, we have learnt to help ourselves in my community. What I fear is some ignorant cnut doing something that forces a political intervention.Sandstorm wrote: Thu Oct 08, 2020 10:48 amYou're both right, but if you (or 'Tsek) is hoping for a political intervention from the government - even just admitting these are criminal acts - you better find a comfy place to wait.Chilli wrote: Thu Oct 08, 2020 9:59 amI agree.
