May as well post this here, too...
Kristofferson attended Pomona College and experienced his first national exposure in 1958, appearing in the March 31 issue of Sports Illustrated for his achievements in collegiate rugby union, American football, and track and field.[6] He and his classmates revived the Claremont Colleges Rugby Club in 1958, and it remains a Southern California rugby institution.

I have met him - and Rita Coolidge - when they both performed in Hamilton.

Neat guy and has some massive hits with his name on them.

RIP

He was also excellent in Payback as Bronson, quite a dude in all facets. RIP.

Always liked him but he ascended to leg-end-hood in my eyes when he stood up for sinead O'Connor.

I don't know what to say, other than Kris Kristofferson was one of the players on the soundtrack of my childhood due to my mother's love of Country Music. I grew up with all of these people singing around me, Patsy Cline, Dolly, Tammy, Cash, Hank Williams Jnr, Kristofferson, Willie, Glen Campbell especially, but others too.

The double whammy was my mum's all time favourite, Barbra Streisand, making that film with Kristofferson

Kristofferson had a great way with words, he was a real song smith.

RIP
