There’s been a quake just north of San Francisco and a tsunami warning issued.

My mum is sitting in the airport waiting for a flight to London in 90 minutes

Is the airport near the coast? Hopefully she’ll be on a flight soon

Not on the open ocean side of the city, but in the Bay. However if the tsunami enters the Bay, its height will be amplified.

Flight goes in 90 minutes which is when the “surge” is expected to arrive.

Tsunami alert cancelled..
I love watching little children running and screaming, playing hide and seek in the playground.
They don't know I'm using blanks..

I love it how a certain age group rush down to the beaches to "see it".

Namaqualand had a small one yesterday. It only cause some heavy swearing from the locals. Myself roots from there.

I read this article yesterday following the news of the earthquake off the coast of San Francisco. Fascinating read and a bit scary if indeed this last earthquake is a precursor for something bigger.

Ruh-oh... maybe I should consider that job op in Ontario after-all!

Really, Victoria has a fair bit of elevation. The rugby club, however is pretty much in that corridor that cuts the south-east corner off.
