Just eaten obligatory Santa mince pie, depositing far more leftover crumbs than necessary and pinned up the little one's first stocking.

Monstrous lies and Yule, it's a winning combination  Merry Christmas, freaks.

Interesting story out today. Passengers on an AirNZ flight left San Francisco on 24th Dec and arrived here on 26th December, hence they all missed Christmas Day.

The airline did make it up to them

Hopefully none of you lot are too worse for wear today and have been having a nice time with your families.

My family have always been anti- Merry, but that's because they're Christians and think it emphasises drinking and excess in a way that detracts from the celebration of Christ's birthday.

As a teetotal heathen, I tend to stick with happy holidays. Happy Yule or Solstice if I want to start something...

I like 'Happy Festivus' myself. It's not mine, I think maybe someone on the old bored might have coined that phrase, or it came from one of the other sport forums I've frequented.

My father was a locally well known musician and was a church organist / choirmaster for years. Anglican church. I was drowned in that world for years and have little time for it now. The whole religious fiasco turns me cold. He did give me a love of music, though.

So happy festivus.

My 18 year old Aussie nephew and his 4 mates are currently downstairs at my mums playing the drinking game “centurians”. Merry for them, not for us
