Hickie or Horgan would have loved to play with Ireland at the top. Watched a Horgan highlight video recently and you forget just how good he was at his peak.
Hickie. Shame he bowed out do early but he would have been 33 for the 2009 GS season.

When did Horgan start to go off the boil?

I'd take either of them now.
Horgan lost his place around 08? Still not in terrible form but not at his peak at that stage.
Yeah I think it was more a case of Bowe taking his game to another level in 07/08 season and taking the 14 jersey . Horgan was still starting for Leinster in 2011

He was a bit up and down. Don't think it was injury related until the very end, probably more than he lost his hunger a bit.

Was still able to turn it on from time to time, not unlike Murray in the tail end of his career.
