Well - full and unequivocal apology to Prince Harry and Tom Watson plus undisclosed but substantial compensation, which will no doubt be significant. It must have been really, really shit for Murdoch and his 'Goebbels'' Brookes for them to roll over and settle as they have. They have avoided a trial at all costs so feck knows what else might have been exposed. Full vindication for Harry and Watson but no doubt the Mail and Express will blame Megan for pushing Harry into this and destroying the credibility of an entirely reasonable and honest NGN? Murdoch will be rolling in his grave ... soon!

Another good reason to never, ever buy a newspaper from this crock of shit!

Blimey, they took this to the wire.

The trial was supposed to kick off on Monday but both sides pushed for a delay, presumably as the settlement was being knocked into shape.

Wonder if anything will go further, as after all H was a member of the Royal Family and Watson was a serving member of Parliament - assume there's some security legislation that's been broken

My conspiracy theory is that aging has already been cured, but it's a tightly kept secret, which is why Murdoch just Will. Not. Die.

See also Musk, Zuckerberg, Bezos & Thiel. Probably also Trump, Putin etc. Endless oligarchy & tyranny is upon us.

So Murdoch, Brookes and Lewis all committed perjury when giving eveidence. Brookes also presided over the "disappearance" of over 30 million e-mails stored on NGN's servers

Yes, but we all know they are the untouchables.

Hopefully more to come, although I've got as much chance of running out at Twickenham as Murdoch or Brooks do of seeing the inside of a prison cell.
The Met police have requested transcripts of the pre-trial hearings in Prince Harry’s phone-hacking case against Rupert Murdoch’s newspaper empire, the Guardian can reveal, as fresh calls were made for a new criminal investigation.

Really bad for the shareholders more than the leadership team. Nothing has actually happened to any of the bosses.

And I would again like to know why shareholder money is being used to avoid bosses avoiding giving evidence that sees them face criminal charges, 'tis very generous of the shareholders, unusually so. Is it just that Murdoch would tear it all down if he had to face his due? Because on the face of it I can't see why shareholders would spend an absolute fortune to protect Rebecca Brooks and the older brother of Methuselah

The police, likely knowing just how much the police have divulged things to the media they ought not to have, in every opportunity presented to them to act have utterly failed to do so in meaningful fashion. Why they should get to mark their own homework again is beyond me, they face a massive conflict of interest and have at minimum given the appearance of being severely corrupted in all this.
