And yet we pull wins like that out of the hat.

Scotland woke up too late, after Ireland bolted out to a TBP in the first ~25 minutes, but played some nice stuff in the 2nd half, & some promising signs for Scotland. For Ireland it was more like what they needed last weekend, & will need for the games to come.

Pack got pumped in the first half making it very difficult for the backs, and defence was not working. The same preplanned mass subs is annoying as Murray is clearly not reading the game. Brightest sparks were both scrum halves - Cowan is like George Horne and Paterson has some wheels (though is a wee bit too selfish). If Urwin could place kick it would have looked a lot more respectable. Logan not up to the hype.

The England pack will be looking forward to this…

His try was very, very good, & as you say he really showed that he has proper pace, & to me, a bit more impressive, real composure, as the last kick was a bit of a horrlicks, but he didn't panic, he fell beyond the try line, & when the ball rolled in, just dabbed it down.

He could have buggered that up in twenty different ways, but he showed a top two inches that you can't train in a player; they either have it or they don't, & he has it !

I think Cowan’s all round game is better and the changes to the pack helped Paterson, but either way, it’s one area not to worry about.

Your boy has been the starting 10 for the last year. England won fuck all. He had a decent run, he got a fair chance and he fucked it. He's a very talented player but he's not a player that leads. And he's flaky when under the cosh. I like him but he's not the answer at 10 for England.

I’d be more concerned by both Slade and Genge trying a goose step while at full trundle, and Marcus doing one in a straight line in acres of space to absolutely no one. It’s a plague worse than the whooping and hollering (though someone did do a knee slide after Baxter’s try).

Nah, you need to take your rose tinted glasses off of you think that was good England performance or we weren’t very lucky . The odd dropped ball, not a choke - but after repeat drops under no real pressure you could see a few French heads drop and start to over think stuff, there was one break when they were in but tried some Harlem globetrotters shit and messed it up (to a curry turnover iirc). And, being French, when the heads started to drop, the errors increased. They were ahead most of the game, and choked.

And if you are debating whether England under Borthwick are not shit and slow , then there isn’t really much point continuing this verbal discourse.
