Beheading?

The Georgian Lyon winger should have made a meal of it (not that I'd blame him if he did as it was a massive headbutt) then it would have been a red. I know that makes rugby like football but if referees won't referee then that's what will happen.

Not as weird as the Lynx bottom half spray ad with the basketball bloke sniffing the other blokes cock and the woman sniffing his arse in the cinema.

The Underhill decision is not on one group of officials - this is the standard now. Find any possible reason to lower the sanction based on either degree of force or mitigation.

Back when it was the high tackle framework there would be a forensic examination of whether there was a significant change in height or in direction. Now as soon as a ref can see any deviation they are relieved they can avoid the red card.

The current Officials will all be comfortably retired or dead when some lawyer has to explain to a Court how the IRB & Unions were absolutely committed to reducing dangerous head contact ......

Just a thing on player stats - Dayglo is listed as six four on Wiki, Robshaw as six two.

She is genuinely a terrific ref, but that was wrong.

At the same time I agree with TOTM, the refs have obviously been told to mitigate as much as possible.

Completely, it’s getting more like footie, they know why it’s happening but prefer to create the outrage.

On Underhill, I’d be taking him to Oz despite only playing a fraction of the season

Underwood’s got a different level of power both in attack and defence. Very lucky boy tonight and I would be surprised if he wasn’t cited.

He dropped his head like a bull running at another bull; that's incompatible with carrying out a tackle & he should be cited, & banned !

Tbh you have to factor in the commentator was Andy Goode, who makes his living by going viral for slating the ref just about every week.

Poor decision mind, though none of the officials seemed to think it was a red.

Fortunately given it was a one sided game it doesn’t really matter, Bath were the only team in it before and after that moment. Congrats to them, we can probably all agree that’s enough silverware for one year now

I know you guys look at things through a "Scottish" prism at times but she is an averagely good ref who has done well to break through the glass ceiling.
This is a stone cold red all day long and she shou;ld have given it.

We are seeing loads of 'stone cold' reds getting mitigated down for no real reason lately.

I had no internet connection in the hotel last night, so late to this party.
1) LOU are a team where the sum of the individuals is less than the parts. No way they were winning and probably not against even 14 men.
2) This is NOTHING to do with female refs.

Davidson is a joke. I remember when she started with 6N U20 games and the women's 6N. At the same time there was a female Fre ref who was brilliant. No idea what happened to the Fre lady but Davidson is consistently sh*te. No game should be used for ref selection to make a PC point, and certainly not a show-piece final. Yet another piece of abject crap by her and presumably player safety becomes a casualty, again.

She needs to be stood down from all professional games permanently.

BTW, it was Underhill who was done for the same against Luc (Pau) a few weeks back? And it was Davidson who redded him then? Maybe she didn't want to be accused of picking on him? Meantime, serial offenders like Farrell and Underhill need much longer bans until they cease endangering other players' healths and careers.

She is consistent. Consistently pathetic

The French ref you're thinking of is Aurélie Groizeleau, who is very good. She is very much still around and was the ref for the Ireland England match in the Women's 6N. She will be one of the main referees for the Women's World Cup this year.

Aye, this is what we are saying, the officials are under instruction to find the slightest mitigation so as to not "spoil the spectacle" - see also the 20 minute red card bollocks.
