And are there two g’s in Bugger Off?
Glasgow are in a phase where their inward investment is limiting their outward investment for new talent.
Both Fagersons and Tuipulotu are likely on their biggest deals of their career now.
Would guess Zander and Tuipulotu are two of the highest paid players in Scotland. Possibly the two highest paid heading into next season.

Jamie Ritchie got it, there's no denying that he embodies what the Caulie Lug is all about - he'll never take a backwards step, huge commitment to the cause.

He'll turn 35 just before the next world cup, he has a chance for sure. His style is largely about dynamism over power though (albeit he's one of the hardest hitting tacklers I've seen) so perhaps he will drop off over the next few years. Great to have the option and a chance for him to provide a more mature option for a few years amongst the many young hookers we have emerging.Dogbert wrote: Fri May 23, 2025 9:58 am George Turner signed for Quins, good for Quins, and great for Scotland

I wonder what, if anything, this means for Mikey Jones? Jones is a couple of years older and yet to really make an impact.westport wrote: Fri May 23, 2025 10:14 am Edinburgh Rugby is delighted to announce the signing of promising young duo, SQ centre Charlie McCaig from Exeter Chiefs, and Scotland U20 loosehead Ben White from Melrose![]()
Second LHP Edinburgh have signed for 25/26, with only one outgoing so far. Wouldn't expect White to see much game time with the 1s in 25/26.KingBlairhorn wrote: Fri May 23, 2025 10:30 amI wonder what, if anything, this means for Mikey Jones? Venter will almost certainly be away with Scotland come February, that only leaves Jones and White as looseheads at the club, I think.

Right enough, I'd forgotten we'd signed him for next season as well
Piers O'Conor is a decent enough signing as well.Tichtheid wrote: Fri May 23, 2025 11:24 am It does seem we're bloating out the squad with guys who may or may not make the grade - no disrespect to them, but these are not Venter/Goosen/Boff level signings
Richardson aside, he will be a great addition
Most of the signings seem to be strategic punts on SQ players and I think that is fair enough really - it is part of the club's role.
There has been a bit of churn in the squad and it seems the budget has been cut for both pro teams, but I am not sure Edinburgh go into next season appreciably weaker. Of the exits, Boff, Bennett, and Scott haven't really contributed this season. We are weaker at scrum half but Price was probably on a decent wedge and has not really delivered. Richie is a loss but I think we are all expecting Douglas and McConnell to fill that void.
Hmmm! You sure about that?robmatic wrote: Fri May 23, 2025 1:05 pmPiers O'Conor is a decent enough signing as well.Tichtheid wrote: Fri May 23, 2025 11:24 am It does seem we're bloating out the squad with guys who may or may not make the grade - no disrespect to them, but these are not Venter/Goosen/Boff level signings

That would be grand, definitely let us know next time

I thought he was alright at Connacht? I don't expect him to be starting ahead of Currie or Lang, but we have been really thin at centre this season with Scott and Bennett crocked all the time.SaintK wrote: Fri May 23, 2025 4:50 pmHmmm! He’s definitely come in as a reserve utility back. He’s not getting in ahead of either of those two at 12 or 13 and probably not ahead of currie at centre (12 or 13) or on the wing. He’ll also be behind Tuipolotu junior in both centre positions. He’ll obviously be behind Duhan and Darcy on the wings and obviously behind the Goose too. At fullback Patterson and Darcy will be ahead of him. Jack Brown is emerging too.robmatic wrote: Fri May 23, 2025 5:14 pmI thought he was alright at Connacht? Even if he’s 3rd choice in both centre positions, at wing and at fullback though he is still a very handy player to have around the squad.

A good night for Scottish internationals. Finn with the Challenge Cup and McTominay and Gilmour the Scudetto. Great to see!

The reception for McTominay when they came out individually to collect their medals was noticeably greater than all the other players. He was also confirmed as Serie A player of the season. Gilmour played from the start and had a great game.Slick wrote: Fri May 23, 2025 9:35 pmNapoli won? It's incredible what these two and Lewis Ferguson are achieving out there.

McTominay's goal was a belter
It was. But in Scotland it would probably have been disallowed for having his boot too high. If he were playing against one of a certain two teams and had an opposition player anywhere near him, quite likely a straight red card as well…Tichtheid wrote: Sat May 24, 2025 1:44 pmBlackmac wrote: Sat May 24, 2025 1:37 pmThe reception for McTominay when they came out individually to collect their medals was noticeably greater than all the other players. Clarke might start one of them ahead of Kenny McLean at this rate.Tichtheid wrote: Sat May 24, 2025 1:44 pmBlackmac wrote: Sat May 24, 2025 1:37 pmThe reception for McTominay when they came out individually to collect their medals was noticeably greater than all the other players. Kim Little just captained Arsenal to a win in the woman’s champions league final to add to the list of top achievements by Scottish internationals this weekend.KingBlairhorn wrote: Fri May 23, 2025 9:08 pm A good night for Scottish internationals.
