16A !!!! This is wonderful. It is a monkey puzzle (tree) and is also the name of one of the greatest crossword compilers ever.
The Reverend John Galbraith Graham MBE, sadly no longer on this world. I knew him and visited his house in Somerham. I also went to his funeral. RIP.
In my garden I have a monkey puzzle tree the Chilean one
One of his great anagrams was "Poetical scene with surprisingly chaste Lord Archer vegetating". This is "The Old Vicarage, Grantchester", a reference to Jeffrey Archer and his involvement in a sex scandal.
I've been there and met him. His wife Mary was called "fragrant" by Private Eye. Clever woman and an utter delight. We exchanged chat about Imperial College. My next door neighbour was his amenuensis and corrected a lot of his English!
Apologies for a bit of a highjack but this is very dear to my past memories.

I loved his crosswords, sometimes on his themed ones they could be really tough until you worked out what the theme was and then it tended to fall in place. He did have a quite a wry sense of humour in his clues too.
