How on Earth are we having multiple players sent home from the camp before we have played a game? I really hope they were carrying these injuries when they arrived.
So will we see any replacements? CHH perhaps?
Great to have your cheery disposition back

Congrats to Duhan van der Merwe making his debut for Scotland. I knew since his school days at Kwaggas he will be a Springbok. He and Gelant made the Kwaggas the best in SA in schoolboy rugby. Duhan is the younger Boet of Akker who plays for the UK Sharks.

I hope my prediction doesn't turn out to be incorrect but thanks for him :)
Worldly player at the 'burgh, really hope he has what it takes at int'l level, I'm going to put my neck out on the line and say he'll be a great international. And it's McMerwe now; Following in the great footsteps of William MacNeil at prop!
And on the 7th day, the Lord said "Let there be Finn Russell".

William MacNeil What a great fatty he is. From my woods, Namakwalander.

Hell of a scrumager and at precisely the time we needed a player of his skillset.

It's interesting how well South Africans seem to settle in Scotland. It can't be for the weather obviously, but even away from rugby South Africans seem to settle very quickly and are happy to set up home.

That's a very strong team. A very big front row, a very dynamic back row, a very exciting running back three. I'm looking forward to this.
We really should expect to thrash Georgia and we should seek to put down a serious marker we can all point to when the inevitable relegation from the 6N chat makes its annual resurgence.
Won't work. We're barely filling the squad because of covid. You'll have to make arguments based on beating Georgia B. And most of them haven't played a proper game since March. I'm shocked that we're going to the november tournament at all.

I presume your 'we' is Georgia? I think you are seriously overestimating the knowledge of the kind of fan who raises the point. If most of them can name a single rugby player beyond Jonny Wilkinson I'd be generally surprised. They would't know a Georgia B team from Adam.

...and babas player breaks COVID protocols. I was wrong that they didn’t have the protocols in the first place, but I’m unsurprised that this has happened in a heavy drinking ‘no rules’ culture. There must be doubts as to whether Maitland can join Scotland for the next few weeks now.
So Maitland out of Barabarians game due to leaving the bubble. Would think Scotland would be very cautious about bringing him in quickly so may not be available for next week.

Is this not the second time Maitland has broken lockdown rules? Seem to recall a bunch of Saracens players doing something stupid earlier in the summer. I really like him as a player, but worried about his judgement off the pitch, and you have to think Townsend would be under some pressure to drop him pour encourager les autres.

Was just tweeting about this. Maitland wasn’t representing Scotland or the SRU, so Toony won’t feel obliged to take public action in the same way, but I expect he will be pretty pissed off all the same. Doubt we’ll see Maitland start any games this autumn.
