Agreed. A tighthead prop is not there to be fancy. Number 1, stand your ground in the scrum or dominate. The rest is a bonus.OomStruisbaai wrote: Mon Nov 02, 2020 7:53 amMalherbe was the best WP player on Saturday. I mean just look at him, he who together with his Bok compadres destroyed the Bulls forwards, the greatest prop to grace gods green earth. We mere mortals should bow down in awe of him and there is so much to be in awe of. Also Moernaai should take the Bok 10 jersey in Pollards absence. Junkies can warm the bench a bit longer or at least until he retires.

This is the brains trust that won us the RWC from absolutely nowhere. It goes without saying that they will do what's best for SA Rugby overall. They see the bigger picture.Sards wrote: Mon Nov 02, 2020 11:46 amUhhhmmm......duh....vok sometimes I think you are as dom as Willemse...handyman wrote: Mon Nov 02, 2020 11:43 amYou want to switch things around for the Boks that in their last test won the RWC?Sards wrote: Mon Nov 02, 2020 11:41 am

Nienaber is not Rassie. He has never coached a CC or Superrugby side....he is just too chicken shit scared to be exposed and we will get drilled by the British and Irish Lions...handyman wrote: Mon Nov 02, 2020 12:08 pmThis is the brains trust that won us the RWC from absolutely nowhere. All we know from this local competition is that the Stormers are kak. Willemse is not a flyhalfs arse. Morne is the form flyhalf. Our front rows are good at this level across the teams. Our locks are at the Bulls. As is our loose trio.
Now if we played international rugby there would be no guessing.
Nienaber will have consulted Rassie. Rassie may be the Director now, but don't think much will change around the team I suspect Nienaber will do a lot of the PR jobs. Rassie will still be hands on coach, he said as much after chasing the sun, that we dare not let this momentum slip now.Sards wrote: Mon Nov 02, 2020 12:16 pmNienaber is not Rassie. We know that the Bulls are on fire, but it's still early doors, a lot of rugby still to be played. I know as a saarkie you have hensopped, don't paint me by the same brush.

All momentum was lost when SARU reneged on the RC deal. We will be 3 months behind the rest of the world

How do you figure this out?
With his 1/2 a brain cell. SA Rugby is at least 6 months behind NZ.
Ok we are getting there. NZ is not the rest of the world but at least we are heading in the right direction by accepting that we are way behind.Sandstorm wrote: Mon Nov 02, 2020 8:29 pmWith his 1/2 a brain cell. SA Rugby is at least 6 months behind NZ.
Sigh.....Saffers aren't the brightest.
The Wallabies got a hammering but at least they know where they stand and what to fix....we are still puzzling out Currie cup rugby

Obvious we know exactly where we are when they finalize this tournament.
Far from match fit for any rugby, no overseas player available.
Getting a hiding of 100 nul from the All Blacks, 50 nul from the Wallabies.
Their season is finished at Christmas, our s halfway.
Comes March next year and they will be behind.
Why is this so difficult to understand

From the WC winning starting XV only Amm, Malherbe, Bongi & Vermeulen are playing.

Hating it would be not wanting to see our Springboks play.

The Ozzies have been trying to fix their rugby for years now. The last few years they relied on Kiwis to do it for them but they just end up further in the ditch.Sards wrote: Tue Nov 03, 2020 4:07 amOk we are getting there. You just don't get it and I said I'm done trying to explain it to you but I'll give it one more go.
- SARU was beholden to the lockdown measures put in place by the SA government like all the rest of us. Regardless of what your feelings is about the "lockdown" it is wat it is.
- Because of this SARU could not get the Springbok players match fit in time to send down-under.
The alternatives
- Send an inexperienced developmental squad to get murdered. Capping bag full of youngsters and subjugating them to loss after loss. Risking them not only physically but mentally as well in a hope that they learn and don't sustain to many career ending injuries and/or develop a losing mentality.
- Withdraw
My opinion from the get go was that the strict lockdown measures put in place by the SA government was excessive and unnecessary. It has done unrepairable damage and crippled us as a nation. But just like you and me and everyone ells SARU could not do anything about it and had to toe the line like everyone ells.
