Don't have "Mimosa" any more <Sob>. Went in the divorce. I use chartered yachts now. It does mean you can fly, pick one up and sail in places like the Barrier Reef. Take a while to get there by sea!

My days of long passages are well behind me now. If I fall overboard it's nice to be in warm water!

I'm well aquainted with Gerardus Mercator's projection. Not needed now with GPS (I've got 5 of those). I remember when they were a bit erratic as the Americans put in false readings to combat an enemy firing missiles at them, using their technology.

I was on a yacht in the Solent when we were trying out a system called "differential GPS" with the man who thought it up.

Done two Atlantic crossings (one from Cape Town delivering a cat to Chesapeake Bay) and it's boring as hell, especially if you have a dozy crew, who are just in it for the mileage to get their sailing qualifications. Never again. I know the BVI like the back of my hand though. Taken a few "celebrities" around there. It's Rolls Royce sailing, best around Christmas.

I think the second one is Machu Picchu - Incan descent.

Not sure about the other one.

Should be something to do with Romancing The Stone. Can't see it though.

I'm really confused. Thought that was referring to just the first clue - are all the quiz answers words that start with M or P? :???:

or

Crafty as you may find in Paris and back (6)

No letters in either ( doesn’t need to be M or P)

The second one is ASTUTE - as + tu + reversal of et.

The first might be Monday, but if so, I don't understand the second bit of the clue.

Genius - I don’t know why but whenever I am stumped by a clue it’s often a hidden word. I always forget to look. 🙁
