I mentioned on the old bored that I like to watch old Michael Parkinson interviews and old Barry Norman stuff. Makes me terribly nostalgic especially the Norman stuff as I can remember watching most of the stuff from the mid 80's onwards.wgqt gets your oldy timey juices flowing? I do wonder if it is particularly healthy as in nostalgia. Probably better to be stuck in the present

Anyway reminds me of mucking round my Nan's house in summer playing cricket with my cousins:

Yeah exactly. Bit of a dick but I loved that show bad. Transported me every month from smoggy dreary old Ireland to Hollywood and adventure. He also loved world cinema which broadened what I watched from a young age. Funnily enough recently I watch lots of shit. Not sure what the psychology of that is

I'm a bit nostalgic for when America used to be cool tbh.

Hey Sully, remember when I said I'd kill you last?

I lied....

New Zealand TV of the 80s and 90s was 90% from the UK and US. I guess it probably still is? For comfort food nostalgia I'll watch old UK sitcoms on YouTube like Dad's Army and Yes, Minister. For a nostalgic laugh I'll watch silly US stuff like Dukes of Hazard and MacGyver.

Yes, still got it, though I'm not sure if it works any more. I've been playing classics like Manic Miner and Boulderdash via emulation recently.

And I'll tell you what I also miss, proper secondhand/junk shops, you could browse for hours and pick up rare old records or odd musical instruments dirt cheap. The internet has put paid the that, everybody knows the price of everything these days.

How many times I got poor Xain wasted within 3mins I'll never know. Certainly blew a small fortune trying to get past level 1.

If I was smart I'd have already been to newsagents, load up a tiny wicker basket with a kilo of sugar from 40 or so penny sweet containers and have each one counted laboriously into a paper bag at the till.

That is just a perfect movie in every way...

"Don't disturb my friend here, he's dead tired."
"let off some steam, Bennett."
"You know what i like best? The price..."
"Soldier: Slitting a little girl's throat is like a warm knife through butter.
Bennett: [to the soldier] Put the knife away, and shut your mouth."

I could go on...

There are times when I have been cooking for guests I prefer in short doses. So I make my excuses, head for the kitchen, and put Tubular Bells on the Bose thingy, followed by some “special” playlists
