Richly deserved.

THe Honours list is possibly the most diverse I've seen.

Ok I'll bite.

If being an insufferably smug blowhard was the criteria you'd have been knighted years ago.

Agreed ! I must confess I didn't run through the whole list. It took up nigh on two pages in the Telegraph today.

Hampson I get.

Maybe Baxter after the number of years he (and his family) have put into Exeter as both player and coach combined with where he's taken them, but Joe Simmonds? The honour certainly can't be just for on field contributions, but even if he does shit loads of charity work, he's 23 and full time pro, I find it hard to conceive that he's done enough to warrant recognition for services to rugby thus far (not to say he couldn't get there). Maybe I'm completely wrong, but he's not quite at Matt Hampson levels is he?

Don't know enough about the others to comment.

An outspoken supporter of BLM accepting an honour containing the words British Empire?

A black man, supporter of BLM, receiving an honour from the most privileged white woman. No ironing there. At least he’ll have a justified reason to take a knee...

I go straight to the OBEs and QSMs where the truly deserving names are listed.
