Saw an "Escape to France" program a few years ago and the local camp site shop sold lots of Brit food to cater to the tourists. However every Thursday they had a 100+ loaves of White Sliced delivered and the local French population would line up to buy it all.
Cheaper than feeding the foie gras on corn.

Probably been about a decade since I last ate white breadthrough choice. Would've been 20/21 and just buying up whatever was cheapest in my last year at uni.

The only times I eat it now is when it's the only thing on offer like at work conferences where apparently brown bread or even granary isn't an option for the tiny sandwiches with weird fillings you'd never buy yourself.

As for the toast, 6 or 7. There's no point otherwise.

It's been alluded to but copious amounts of butter are critical on toast. Margarine or any of it's filthy cousins shouldn't even be allowed in the fridge.

In all honesty no, not unless there's no wholemeal or granary bread on offer.

If the only option is commercially made white bread, I'll just not bother. I genuinely think it's tasteless rubbish, the definition of empty calories.

5 for peanut butter.

5-6 mostly for vegemite. 2/3 butter & 1/3 vegemite - take note Tom Hanks.

Sometimes I prefer 8-9 for vegemite.

Occasionally let the toast cool for vegemite.

White bread is for people who’s parents still walked them to the school gate as a teenager.

Granary bread, scrambled eggs and kippers before a hard day of the test match leading into the 6N.

Toasted granary bread is like eating a jumper wearing vegan.
