I'm calling bullshit! That dog is in a healthy condition - , well fed, well filled out but not overweight, glossy coat, even has a new collar FFS

I’ve seen a few vids from that organisation, and they have enough stuff about dogs in a really bad way not to have to make anything up.

Fair enough but to me the whole way that was edited reeked of scam - the sad story, the tragic mood music and the way he interacted with the dog and the dog's behaviour, the editing and the inconsistencies in the 'neighbours' story.

Nice dog though.

For balance we had a collie turn up in the aftermath of F&M, she must have been a drovers dog abandoned as no longer required. She was in a hell of a state half starved, infected eyes and lame. First thing was to give her some food before a trip to the vet, although we made extensive enquiries to find her owner she stayed with us for the rest her life. As best we could work out her name was Nel, she wasn't a great worker but she did her bit in the team.

She got caught by our Springer and produced a single pup, Max, who we didn't know what to do with so we kept him as a sort of pet, I mean what else do you do with a springollie? In time he taught himself and turned into the best cattle dog I have ever known.

I don't have collies any more, I have a 13yr old Black Lab who we got free from a breeder/trainer, because her hip score were appalling so she couldn't be bred from and looked like the vet bills would become grim in later years, she's still pretty mobile, watching her weight and diet carefully. A 6yr old yellow lab with a pedigree almost entirely made up of FTChs and is just about the dumbest dog I have ever known. Finally a 7yf old, giant, keeper bred Springer, who is far too bright for anyone's good with a remarkable sense of humour and a strong independent, he'll do the job but HIS way.

I find them quite hard to watch. The state of the dogs at the beginning it pretty awful. Makes you wonder what sort of arsehole would let a dog get in that sort of state or just abandon a house pet to its fate.

Must admit I find any cruelty vids hard going but it does happen and really makes me angry and I have reported a couple of cases. I understand peoples lives can change often dramatically but there's no excuse. Taking on an animal means you are taking responsibility for it's welfare, it's not a right.

I would fully support the reintroduction of dog licenses.

I'm not going to insult anyone's intelligence by posting Andrew Cotter's dog videos on here. I assume you've all seen them.

Smart dog. Wait 6 months until they’re a full crispy duck each.

I use to hate dogs but a friend has two labradors who are well trained. Love being around them. Lesson for me is that you must have two dogs to keep each other company.

There is very little in the world that makes me smile more readily than a dog with its head out a car window. Yes I know they probably shouldn't and it's a bit dangerous, but they're so obviously living their best life

We're due to move in mid to late May but have the opportunity of getting a puppy late April. We had been thinking about holding out until we moved. How much of an issue to a puppy do you think it would be?

None. They are incredibly adaptable until about 2. Even then, more adaptable after that than they are given credit for.

Going to the pub for lunch with friends tomorrow at 1pm. They say they have leave early to be home before dark to walk their dogs. Now maybe I’m being naive, but……why can’t they take the dogs for a long walk at 11am, then out for a quick dump at 6pm?

Are dogs that reliant on a twice daily walk routine???

My dog has no set routine mainly due to my shifts. He'll get anywhere between 1 and 3 walks dependant on where I take him. Doesn't seem to have any issues as he gets out the back if needed.

Fiancées dog just died, suggested burying it under /near to my roses , where i have a bit of a lovely pet cemetery going on. Lovely wire haired terrier, who they adored. Fuck... this is going to be brutal.

Yeap, probably has a couple of cats as well

Just brought a new place and in the process of selecting a new dog that everyone can agree on. Was looking at a rescue mutt, slight misnomer imho as they want $700 for them in our region, but the ladies want a designer dog - they have fallen in love with an Irish setter/poodle cross. The arguments continue, any chance we'll get a real dog out of this?

Yep, we've just moved from a Unit back to a house and she's completely chilled about the whole thing - just finding new places to sniff and sleep!
