Cardiff would qualify not having won a game

This is strange as Toulouse had the 23 players require with negative test results. The sun god wrote: Fri Jan 21, 2022 2:46 pm Cardiff/Toulouse game off with Cardiff getting the win.......!!! Makes it interesting for Wasps on Sunday.

Yes. Because whatever happens at Coventry, either Wasps or CO will overhaul them. No sympathy from me.ASMO wrote: Fri Jan 21, 2022 2:53 pmToulouse fail to qualify then? The sun god wrote: Fri Jan 21, 2022 2:46 pm Cardiff/Toulouse game off with Cardiff getting the win.......!!! I'm sure there's an element of having to risk not quite fit players, but what point do you start to worry that there's something fundamentally wrong with the S&C at Wasps?sockwithaticket wrote: Fri Jan 21, 2022 2:32 pm Wasps team to go tackle Munster
Returns from injury or illness for West, Millar-Mills, Stooke, Robson, Watson, Morris and Spink.
The unavailable list this week:
Biyi Alo, Alfie Barbeary, Malakai Fekitoa, Vaea Fifita, Dan Frost, Jimmy Gopperth, Ben Harris, Robin Hislop, Francois Hougaard, Zach Kibirige, Joe Launchbury, Matteo Minozzi, Will Simonds, Jeffery Toomaga-Allen, Jacob Umaga, Jack Willis, Tom Willis.
Bolded players were involved in the Toulouse win last week. Seems like a lot to lose and every time we get some guys coming back from injury, more fall over. Notable exception for Umaga starting his ban.
Probably going to get beat, very few teams rock up at Thomond and win in Europe.
Yup. It's not beyond the realms that the LNR threatens to pull the remaining Fre clubs and uses the gap to catch up T14 fixtures.
Some of us did but the combo of money, TV and an inept organiser has made it as sh*te as Soup now.Jim Lahey wrote: Fri Jan 21, 2022 3:45 pm Farcical decision. Farcical tournament format. Farcical tournament.
We didn't appreciate what we had in the 00s/early 10s.
From what I can see here, there is no difference between the ST situation and the absolute disgraceful decision made against Leinster in Dec.Torquemada 1420 wrote: Fri Jan 21, 2022 3:36 pm Sh*t has hit the fan now.
The LNR has waded in in support of Toulouse, calling the cancellation unfounded and a scandal. Stating that Toulouse had followed all EPCR rules and therefore EPCR has violated its own regs.
This is a big deal. LNR is hinting it will support legal proceedings by Toulouse against EPCR. LNR is the governing body for the French clubs.
I would say that most supporters most certainly did appreciate what we had but when has that ever mattered !!Jim Lahey wrote: Fri Jan 21, 2022 3:45 pm Farcical decision. Farcical tournament format. Farcical tournament.

A slight difference. Leinster was arguing alone. This could be raise the hackles of entirety of Fre club rugby. Europe has no monetary value without T14 clubs. EPCR knows it. LNR knows it.The sun god wrote: Fri Jan 21, 2022 4:17 pmFrom what I can see here, there is no difference between the ST situation and the absolute disgraceful decision made against Leinster in Dec.Torquemada 1420 wrote: Fri Jan 21, 2022 3:36 pm Sh*t has hit the fan now.

Yeah, with the squad having been as barebones as it was at times there's almost certainly an element of that in play and those who've been consistently available this season have got a lot of rugby under their belts. Gopperth has probably played a lot more than they'd be expecting a 38 year old to. Will probably get an update midweek about the injuries, but the Cov Telegraph team coverage notes that Barbeary and Willis were in game head knocks, there's not much as can be done about that from an S&C perspective.JM2K6 wrote: Fri Jan 21, 2022 3:29 pmI'm sure there's an element of having to risk not quite fit players, but what point do you start to worry that there's something fundamentally wrong with the S&C at Wasps?sockwithaticket wrote: Fri Jan 21, 2022 2:32 pm Wasps team to go tackle Munster

Their rugby coverage hasn't been great for a while, it's breadth and depth read like a couple of interns drew the short straw to do it.duke wrote: Fri Jan 21, 2022 4:19 pm Just seen a reference to Sam Underhill coming back from injury against Leinster on Saturday. We'll take the revised 0-0 score and 2 pts. in support of the Toulouse position.Torquemada 1420 wrote: Fri Jan 21, 2022 4:22 pmA slight difference. Leinster was arguing alone. It would be hilarious if Leinster won the thing by being awarded a 28-0 win in the final.Camroc2 wrote: Fri Jan 21, 2022 4:39 pm We'll take the revised 0-0 score and 2 pts. in support of the Toulouse position.![]()

Go back to the old 20 team format headed by a competent organisation based in Dublin.
This. It has to be short and high quality which go hand in hand. The best players simply can't do a work load that includes extended leagues, extended cup comps and internationals. If you want true quality the competitions have to be focused.Kawazaki wrote: Fri Jan 21, 2022 5:15 pmCamroc2 wrote: Fri Jan 21, 2022 4:58 pmBollox.Kawazaki wrote: Fri Jan 21, 2022 4:56 pm Europe needs a total rethink. It's just too many games. Needs to be elite again or just don't bother.
