Morne is like Braam van Straaten and Louis Koen's lovechild. He has always been an unashamedly Northern Transvaal style flyhalf. His unflappable temperament would be an essential component in my ideal model of a flyhalf. Max Boyce was a Welsh comedian who imagined a flyhalf factory in Wales. There are more than a few parts of Morne who I would add into any factory that produced flyhalfs.
You never saw him as a youngster then.
Morne is a great footballer. One thing that I think he lacks is the speed off the mark to take a gap. Pollard is the same. Richie Mo and Dan Carter are great examples of a ball in hand threat from no10 channel. They have all the tools. I have no doubt he had some gas at 21. He was probably also 15kg lighter which makes a massive difference to acceleration and top end speed.

Finn Russell - with the form he displayed in the third test - could probably have won the Lions a famous victory in SA had he played from the start. He has that kind of kick.

If Gatland played a running game against us, they would have won.
He played directly into our hands.

They played a running game in the last test and still lost. What makes you think it would have turned out any different?

Vokkof.....if Willie wasn't so rubbish he would never have subbed him. His hand was forced. Willie should not have even started or been near the team.

What I did like was Pollard at 12.....that makes for a very interesting discussion....

Can't replace Nienaber after beating the BILs and All Blacks today. He is here to stay.

Lots of dodgy types that pretend to be Springbok supporters but are filled with hate for our team. Chilli is the ringleader. Sad.

You are being a tool again. No one hates the Boks. We hate stubborn coaches who refuse to change players or tactics until it’s almost too late.

My wife knows fokkol about Rugby and even she thought Willie should have been sent home weeks ago. He blew about 7 tries against Australia and several more a week ago. Yet he started gain today…..

This from a man who said that he supports the $harks first and the Springboks second.

Please quote where I post that I don't support the Springboks of fuck off back onto the proven liars list.

Some people are protesting a bit too much.

Lying too, I never supported the Sharks above the Boks, mainly because it was impossible to do so, they do not play in the same competitions.

His name should be on the honours board at Lords. 100 times he’s supported the $harks ahead of Boks.

It takes a mature fan to be able to criticize and support at the same time. Nienaber and Erasmus need to cut out some stuff, particularly the Slick Harry nonsense. They could very easily have gone zero from 4 against the Wallabies and NZ. 1/4 is not a pass mark for me.

I honestly believe Nienaber will emerge from this a better coach. But I'm not going to accept another set of results like that next year with much grace.

It's all about the WC, the years in between have always been about building towards that. These are the first internationals they've played in nearly two years. All in all they've not done to badly considering the circumstances. They've won the Lions tour, they thrashed Argentina. They came close to beating Australia in Australia. The second game was a bit of a let down but even the best teams have a bad game now and then. They preformed well against the AB's.

Rassie had two years to build a team from nothing that could win a WC . Nienaber is in a similar predicament due to covid, only he at least have good team to build on too. It's understandable that supporters expected more from this team but perhaps they should lower their expectations a bit. Under normal circumstances in normal times I would have been the same but we're not living in normal times. Nothing is normal about what's going on in sports right now.

I don't have a problem with people expecting more. It's supporters like sards that I don't have time for. First Rassie is their hero. Few games down and now Rassie is shit. Then Rassies team wins the WC and he's a hero again. Then Nienaber comes in and it's Rassies fault again, Then it's Nienaber's fault, then it's rassnaber's fault. They cant make up their mind who to blame when the team is down but when they win they forget about their shitty attitudes and just move on as if nothing happened.

It's the same with the players. Pollard won us a WC. He came back from a really bad injury and he's first game back was an international test. The guy clearly has class but a few bad games and it's "pull him, he's shit" Elton has one good game and the ten shit ones before is all forgotten. Until he messes up again then it's to the bin with him two, right?

If the people on top listened to these poepholle we'll be playing musical chairs with players and have no settled combinations when it mattered most.

Rant over!

Like I said. Some people settle for less. Throw them a bone and they will happily go back to sitting chained to the kennel.....completely forgetting the past 3 days they weren't fed.

Anyway day 3 of the cricket tournament. Came 3rd in our group because of no bonus points. 2 wins out of 3. Even though we beat the group leaders. So about to start playing for the Shield trophy.

Been a long day in the sun.

I agree that he should have a full world cup cycle and if he does well (not necessarily win it) to be kept on. Erasmus/Nienaber have had a tough task this year but so have all the other teams. What I won't accept is the sly shit they think they can pull. That's Louis Luyt/Hansie Cronje kak. No need for that.

You have an average sized peepee then at least. Other teams might have had it hard but it's not the same as what we were dealing with. NZ/OZ lockdown was a joke compared to ours. We've been playing each other in empty stadiums. The Kiwis and Ozzies have been playing each other freely in front of crowds for how long now? The thing that struck me on our first game in Aus is supporters sitting together, no social distancing and no masks. What sly shit are you referring to? All teams pull sly shit. It comes about with the win at all cost mentality.
