T20 without crowds is lame
All sport is
Would rather England had lost to Ireland last week with a crowd. But nothing we can do
Score?

England getting hammered here - can't see them getting close to this target now.
I may have been a bit hasty with that post

Well, I thought we'd get nowhere near. But to be honest I hadn't really paid attention to the selection and didn't realise just how insane that batting lineup was. When Morgan came out to bat at 6, knowing we had Curran/Curran/Archer still to back up the Stokes/Bairstow partnership, I felt a lot better.
Excellent win. Some innings by Bairstow, but a lot of them did a good job. Saffers will be unhappy to lose but happy with some of the performances, very promising.

Eng batting class and depth, as predicted, way too strong.

Brilliant innings from YJB - he was timing the ball superbly from the moment he went to the crease.
An excellent win by England having recovered from a really poor start - but what was that over from Hendricks - it was just awful - a real game changer.

Well, if all de Kock was aiming for was to give England a bit of a contest, I'm afraid he failed.
Beuron Hendricks' continued selection baffled me.

Congrats Bairstow, some innings!
Hendricks ahead of Nortje - indeed baffling. I might need to go back and count the POCs....

I wonder how many leather jackets he collected for that over?
Just joking. Obviously the occasion got to him; if you are playing a game that you don't expect to win and you find yourself in a position where a win is a real possibility, I guess it's just human nature that you go to pieces. Rabada and Ngidi (and Nortje) are in a different class, though.
TBH, when I saw his name on the teamsheet I was really surprised.

It was only marginally worse than the one from Tom Curran - so it pretty much evened out.
Why was Hendricks playing - is Nortje injured. Hendricks looks very average.

I can only assume the selectors were keen to have a left arm bowler like your Curran.

Show move to Paarl.
A few blocks from the stadium Curtley Lee Arendse, the new SA Rugby star, grew up.
Dawid Malan played his first provincial cricket in the stadium.

I don't think you can really compare Hendicks' last over with Curran's.
How many wides did Curran concede?

Doesn't seem to be much interest in this game. Not on here, nor from the two sides both of whom seem to have come to realisation that South Africa are completely outclassed.
Disappointing, really.
For all de Kock's claim of showing fight, our batsmen seem to have capitulated.

At least it's some cricket/sport
Don't let the scoreline bother you too much. This is more about keeping the game going.

Certainly, Nasser and Mark Nicholas feel that the game is a done deal.
As I type that, Klaasen chips tamely to mid-wicket

111 for five after 17 doesn't give much scope for optimism.

No boundary since the 10th over and only one 6 in the entire innings!!!

Much as I might decry the timidity and faintheartedness of the batsman, I suppose there isn't a hell of a lot left in the hutch.

Linde's runout probably saved 10 runs.
Mind you, even 160 wouldn't have made much difference.
Depending on how good their start is, I suspect Roy and Butler can get this inside ten.
I'm prettysure that they will try, at any rate.

70 dot balls says a lot about the lack of confidence in the batting lineup.
Edit:
That must be wrong.
Maybe I misheard Atherton.

Judging from the way that Butler and Roy are going after it, I don't think they want it to last as long as ten overs!

I suppose he's not quite as good as he thinks he is as someone at last holds onto a catch.

I think you might be watching a different match to the rest of us. Roy out for 14 off 19. Buttler has 7 off 5.
