The money that they poured in to that club, they should be doing much better both in the URC and CC. Their dominance over the pandemic period appears to be a false dawn, and I think Jake White has a lot to answer for.

The biggest disappointment for me was Duane. They must have paid a fortune to get him back, he plays a handful of games and then leaves.

I see Jacques du Plessis and Cyle Brink are out for a while with injuries too. I reckon players returning from overseas do so because they fear their bodies are breaking down or guys like PSDT and Etzebeth who will most likely retire after 2023 RWC.

But those two in particular have no regard for their own bodies. I can't see injuries letting either of them go to 2027.

I've been to Kloovenberg and stayed at their lodge in Riebeeck Kasteel called Pastorie. I reckon they qualify as being a wealthy family. PSDT will never have to look for a job after rugby.

It feels like the Bulls sign all these players on short term contracts, as fast as they come in, they go out. Money has not been wisely spend on players, they mostly seem to sign players who are at the end of their careers and on the way back home to retire. There has been a lot of players in and out of the Bulls over the last few years. They can make a pretty good team out of players who left in the last 3 or so years. I also feel they have focused way to much on getting certain types of forwards in, but i think we do not have props that are that good right now, they get showed up to much in scrums for my liking. Also the backline was a bit neglected during the recruitment drive, they only brought in a couple of players that were on their last legs, they just cannot put in a shift week in/week out. I actually would love if the Bulls can get Simelane away from the Lions, we have exciting players like Arendse/Gans, but we do not have a center pairing and flyhalf that can make full use of that. Add that to the Bulls being really bad travelers and its a real uphill struggle.
