Re: Black Caps in India ---> Ashes in Australia

Am I the only person in whom Mitchell inspires absolutely no confidence?
Best ever bowling performance against India — not a bad entry on his resume.
Same difference.JM2K6 wrote: Sun Dec 05, 2021 10:04 am Or, more likely, India have a couple of senior batsman who really need the time in the middle
Not as rash as the run out. Mitchell had been batting very well till that wild swingJM2K6 wrote: Sun Dec 05, 2021 11:18 am Is slogging the way to go here? That seemed a very rash wicket.
That is probably the most disappointing aspect of the test.Enzedder wrote: Sun Dec 05, 2021 8:36 pm Just watching a replay of the last 2 hours now.
These dismissals are beyond thick.
What happened to protecting your wicket?
If we are lucky
I think he should. Only the third time in test history.
Very close now.
That was a bloody joke.
Similar sympathy for what India went through in England... can't be easy that long in a foreign country in a bubble...Thor Sedan wrote: Mon Dec 06, 2021 10:13 am Thank god that tour is over.
I know that it helped put a little money into the NZ coffers - but really - all it did was give the Indian batters and bowlers a chance to improve their stats. NZ looked absolutely done in. I expect us to struggle in Indian conditions - but this was 1990's NZ cricket stylee. 3 months in bio-bubbles and finishing in India. If it wasn't about the money then I don't really understand what NZ cricket was hoping to get out of this tour.
And what of Rosco - should he be in this set up anymore? Of all the players in this test - he should have been the freshest. He looked horribly out of touch. Is he getting a sympathy place in the team?
England to dominate?JM2K6 wrote: Mon Dec 06, 2021 11:05 am If nothing else it's a good learning experience for a number of players, and while it wasn't close it still probably won't be as one-sided as the Ashes.
The only thing England are going to dominate is chair tennis in the hotel with all the spare time they'll have from being rolled in under 3 days each timeThor Sedan wrote: Mon Dec 06, 2021 3:28 pmEngland to dominate?JM2K6 wrote: Mon Dec 06, 2021 11:05 am If nothing else it's a good learning experience for a number of players, and while it wasn't close it still probably won't be as one-sided as the Ashes.

Stokes will physically dominate some poor bastard Aussie spectator who says the wrong thing (anything) at the wrong time (any time)
Really? Genuinely, I'm shocked - England are a dog-shit Test team with a dreadful batting lineup, playing away in the one place our quality bowlers have awful records. I don't doubt that Broad, Anderson, Woakes, and Stokes will give it their all (not sure who else is fit - Ollie Robinson?) but surely the smart money is on us getting rolled by the Aussie attack time and time again.Thor Sedan wrote: Mon Dec 06, 2021 4:39 pmJM2K6 wrote: Mon Dec 06, 2021 4:27 pmOK fine

Genuinely unsure as to how this series will go. I think if Archer was playing - then the scales would tip in England's favour. Going to be a good one I reckon.
I don't know man. England are a different beast in the Ashes (regardless of results). Jimmy and Broad will be snarling beasts in what will likely be their last Ashes down under.JM2K6 wrote: Mon Dec 06, 2021 4:41 pmReally? I've seen too many supine pastings in away Ashes to think we're a different beast! Obviously it's far from a vintage Aussie side and they have their own issues, but frankly them losing Paine is a massive upgrade for them and Cummings will be pretty ruthless.Thor Sedan wrote: Mon Dec 06, 2021 4:52 pmI don't know man. Understand that I am basing this on nothing other than the feeling I have that England are going to be up for this. They have match winners - and I suspect that the Aussie dressing room isn't the most cohesive place on earth.
Looking forward to it though.
