Be quicker to work with Pence to invoke 25th Amendment
Interestingly, it was Pence and not Trump who approved the deployment of the National Guard, contrary to the earlier lies from Trump's press secretary that he had done so.
The acting secretary of defense, Christopher Miller, said in a statement that he discussed the deployment of National Guard troops to the Capitol with Mike Pence, not Donald Trump.
“Chairman Milley and I just spoke separately with the Vice President and with Speaker Pelosi, Leader McConnell, Senator Schumer and Representative Hoyer about the situation at the U.S. Capitol,” Miller said in the statement.
“We have fully activated the D.C. National Guard to assist federal and local law enforcement as they work to peacefully address the situation. We are prepared to provide additional support as necessary and appropriate as requested by local authorities.”

I can’t help feeling this twat is going to be spending a long time in prison regretting this shit-eating grin.
Brett Favre's been keeping himself busy in his retirement.
Too short (though I think he is a Trump supporter, the twat) ... football forumer said it's Robbie Savage, which is a pretty good shout.
These utter cunts, though!? Not just the stormers, but Trump and all his boot lickers must go asap...

I mean, the cunt has been enabling Trump for 4 years but that’s quite a statement
It's him and his wife, innit?

Absolutely !

Strictly speaking neither Pence nor Trump are needed to deploy the DC guard. By law, the decision resides solely with the Secretary of Defense.
However, it sounds like even if the 25th hasn't actually been invoked, it's been virtually invoked.

The level of delusion and lack of self awareness amongst American pundits is something to behold.
I guess they have to keep up this pretence of America being "the shining city on the hill" but it is not and probably never has been a model democracy or society and very few people actually buy into this mythology any more.

Trump has been a godsend for the Democrats - he has now lost the Presidency and both houses for the republicans. He has also split the Republican party and the schism will only increase now over the next year as the moderates and the Loony Trump fringe fight out who controls the party. As the recriminations start and the real story of inside the WH emerge as more and more of those who sold their souls for Trump seek redemption and avoid prosecution it will get increasingly fractious.
Pull up your seat, grab a beer and some popcorn and enjoy the show, it starts tomorrow!
PS Where are all the UK based Trump supporters now? They all seem to have gone back underneath their rocks!

Reminds me of that episode of the west wing where a newly formed country goes to the west wing to ask for guidance on writing their constitution.
Toby tried to explain that the presidential system in the US is intrinsically unstable, as it puts too much power in one person’s hands.

Not really a surprise, Trump wanted all of this!
Only way Republicans can come out with a slither of respectability is to vote for impeaching him early. But they got what they paid for so f*ck em.

I won't repost the video.
She will be pronounced dead. Not often someone in a pre-hospital traumatic arrest survives.
Being reported that she has died.
You apparently saw the video of her being brought to the ambulance, while having CPR administered; there's another video of the shooting & the immediate aftermath; & I didn't post it; & was surprised that a respectable media organization did post it; because it was the last thing any family of hers should have seen.

Sounds like Cruz et al have chickened out & will do the minimum to suck dictatorial cock; & pretend that the attempted coup isn't what they wanted.
They'll still try to stop the democratic will of the people; but in a; "limited & specific way",

I know we've all doom-mongered and talked of a brewing civil war for a lot of the last 4 years, but actually seeing far right protesters storming the Capitol isn't something I really thought I'd see.
This plus the clashes over BLM in the Summer... I don't know how you even begin to bring the Trumpists back to normal society.

What's striking is that the notional President is now being pushed to the side; & the VP; who became public enemy number one,; when he belatedly confirmed the limits of his role.
It's Pence who is being mentioned in all the press statements from the WH.
It's him who is authorizing the Nation Guard activation; it's him who is talking to the Senate & House Leadership.
It seems it just took thousands of people looking for his blood for the thick fuck to realize that he was supporting a dictator

Trump 'Ship of Shit' sinking fast now. Rats are deserting the ship faster than the Blonde Bumblecunt makes a U turn. His staff are escaping WH and many now saying he is as mad as a hatter. Being called openly a narcissistic psychopath on CCN by democrats and Mitt Romney ... and no-one including Republicans disagrees. VP is running the ship, which is not reassuring. Tango Twat has flipped, gone loco, lost his marbles and is gone rogue. Goes on video thanking the nutters and giving them compliments, saying they did a good job.Serious discussion now about getting him out of office asap.Twitter banned him. The KKK, white militia, Nazi thugs and Proud Boys, etc gone away to get assault rifles and will kick off big style somewhere soon. Expecting more Town Halls to be invaded by thugs tomorrow. Washington DC going into full lock down from now until Biden is anointed. Congress meeting soon to resume certification of vote which will trigger Trump and his mob into even more violence.
Questions ...
- Does the Tango Twat still have access to the big red button - please say no!
- Is this more of an existential threat than covid19
- Will the big boy republicans do the right thing with Trump and get rid of him via 25th amendment
- Will there be civil/racial war in US now
- Should I break my Dry January and have a very stiff G&T
It is mesmerising watching CNN and the US collapsing into a state of panic. As is the case with all charismatic dictators and wannabe Dictators the collapse is dramatic and swift, however this one is spectacular!

Yeh not sure what was going on, maybe they had got in some other way, and then got some help from some friendly coppers. The police though were not holding a position, the rather pathetic barrier seemed to be doing a grand job until the police opened it and encouraged them through. Police pretty chilled all-round, here's one getting a selfie with one of the unscheduled visitors to the Capital:

More worrying is what a organised hostile enemy could do if they got that close to all the USA legislators. I bet Iran/ISIS are kicking themselves they didn't use the protest as cover for something a bit more violent.
