Probably not but I think Russia has managed to give the impression that its threshold for using them might be lower than other countries. Or at least give me that impression. I remember a Russian diplomat a few years ago in the context of Syria maybe saying something on the lines of don't forget we're a nuclear state.assfly wrote: Mon Mar 14, 2022 6:27 am We're not as close as people think. Russia knows better than anyone that if they fire a nuclear weapon the response will be complete obliteration or all major Russian cities. It's not worth it; they'd be better of persevering with a conventional war or negotiating a settlement.
You'll starve the same as everyone else when the global temperature goes down.Sards wrote: Mon Mar 14, 2022 10:08 am A quick google shows NZ and South Africa as being the safest in a nuclear war.

Also it will be freezing. No sunlight. Lots of big Saffers to feast on

Simon's Town is a scrap yard nowadays, for expensive, rusty relics. A danger to shipping.Torquemada 1420 wrote: Mon Mar 14, 2022 2:23 pmDid you fill in Simonstown?Sards wrote: Mon Mar 14, 2022 10:08 am A quick google shows NZ and South Africa as being the safest in a nuclear war.

As fascinating as the conversation about bathroom mirrors was, I’m not sure it was something that the entire train needed to hear about in a one sided and loud phone conversation. A nuclear strike was something most of us on that train would have gotten behind.

I'm a Kiwi boet, not only are there no nukes aimed at us but we're also not sharing a continent with a billion Africans.Sards wrote: Wed Mar 09, 2022 12:00 pm There's massive support from South Africans for Russia. Cheerleaders wishing for the Great Ruskies to destroy the evil colonial West. It would appear that South Africa will not be affected by a nuclear holocaust. So I am good thanks. We will remember you lot fondly
