Ugh that’s ghastly for his wife to find him - reminds me a bit of something that happened in Berkshire , loose connection to a classmate - girl was 18 and driving her Metro to work for her Saturday job one sunny morning. Drives over a level crossing having missed seeing the barriers and lights, and gets obliterated by a train. The very next car coming along was her dad going to his work, he gets out to help and then sees the numberplate amongst the mangled remains !
