I definitely did not see the Bay taking that one. Well done, indeed. As you say, Fakatava was an absolute handful for the MooLoo defense.Gumboot wrote: Wed Aug 16, 2023 7:21 am Great comeback by Hawke's Bay to beat Waikato 35-32 after being well behind for most of the game.
Fakatava and Godfrey bringing huge impact from the bench. That's two in a row the Magpies have pinched at the death.

Nice story Bro.Torquemada 1420 wrote: Fri Aug 11, 2023 9:23 am OMG, Bay get f**king lucky there. Counties should have let the try go over in the corner because McClutchie would have missed the conversion and got his just reward for that f**kwitted earlier conversion attempt.

I have confirmed by flights and will be in Hamilton on evening of 29th, maybe staying the night of 30th before heading to Auckland. Any recommendations on smallish hotels convenient to city centre and the stadium would be highly welcome. I am not looking for super budget accommodation. My wife insists I stay in decent places.Guy Smiley wrote: Tue Apr 04, 2023 8:23 am I'm in the Bay of Plenty... living just outside Katikati for now. Damn _ I would have said stay here but son is going through some marital issues and he is here with his 2 kids.
Let me do some checks and I'll get back to you as to which is best.
I know Brumbie Steve and his wife stayed at Novotel Tainui when he was over for some rugby and they liked it. It is about 15 minutes walk to the stadium and in the centre of town.

I drink and I forget things.
"super budget accommodation" and "decent places", would have thought these would be mutually exclusive unless we are talking the YMCAKiwias wrote: Thu Aug 17, 2023 5:04 amI have confirmed by flights and will be in Hamilton on evening of 29th, maybe staying the night of 30th before heading to Auckland. I’m rostered to work nights that week. I’ll see what I can do about getting some time off.Kiwias wrote: Thu Aug 17, 2023 5:04 amI have confirmed by flights and will be in Hamilton on evening of 29th, maybe staying the night of 30th before heading to Auckland. Counties v BOP
Difference for me was Steelers' ball recycling was twice as fast as the Steamers' the entire game. Even with the large periods of possession BOP has 2nd half, they really had no ideas and the sub SH just slowed it down even more.
Southland v Welly
That score flattered Welly who are going to be in trouble against the more physical sides unless they can fix that powerpuff scrum.

I had to go work. What TF happened to Makos? That has to be upset of the season given the margin.
The Taniwha played out of their skins for the entire 80mins, scoring some good tries, but their defense was stunning -- accurate, aggressive, legal, committed, and sustained. I have never seen the team play better than today.Torquemada 1420 wrote: Sat Aug 19, 2023 11:49 am I had to go work. What TF happened to Makos? That has to be upset of the season given the margin.

Otago today had a real roller-coaster of a game, sublime at times and jokingly bad at others.Torquemada 1420 wrote: Sun Aug 20, 2023 6:07 amDisappointing margin against an Otago team that has looked dire to date.Gumboot wrote: Sun Aug 20, 2023 4:03 am Missed the game. Just seen highlights. BOP's luck will run out if they keep playing every game to the wire.Kiwias wrote: Sun Aug 20, 2023 7:37 amOtago today had a real roller-coaster of a game, sublime at times and jokingly bad at others.Torquemada 1420 wrote: Sun Aug 20, 2023 6:07 amDisappointing margin against an Otago team that has looked dire to date.Gumboot wrote: Sun Aug 20, 2023 4:03 am Missed the game. Yup. Been a disappointing affair this one.Kiwias wrote: Wed Aug 23, 2023 8:04 am Tasman v Wellington not going to be the game of the round. A rather dour affair with Wellington leading 7 - 0 at halftime.
I just realised that this is a Shield challenge for Tasman.
