Is there a mandatory lobotomy on appointment to any position in a sporting government body?
In the Windies, that behaviour is particularly special.

Have you seen any games on it? It’s kicking up viciously off a good length then coming through low next ball.

Good contest between bay and ball, yes, but that pitch is borderline dangerous.
Never mind the pitch, the drop-in net pitches are so dangerous in NY that the Proteas refused to let their quicks bowl at their own team mates at practice!

Miller has been great yesterday. To be really honest our batters just throw their wickets away. Can't blame the pitch for stupid run outs.

India 119 all out.
It will be a tough chase for Pakistan on this pitch with the Indian bowling lineup.

Cricinfo win predictor had Pakistan at 98% chance of winning about half way through that chase. Perfect time to place that bet...

And India pull off the win, so your bet was well placed.

Scotland over Oman btw, pushing them to five points.

Good result by Scotland, solid win and they went after it quickly, hitting the target in the fourteenth over, and giving the run rate a big boost.

Somewhat different Scottish cricket news - John Blain has produced a very punchy statement today.

From what I know of the man and from what I have heard from others who know him better, the allegations against him always stank. The treatment of him has been appalling. Vaughan (undoubted prick admittedly) had the funds to defeat his show trial, not all have had that luxury.

So much of this that’s upended the game is unravelling, people need to be less credulous

Fair to say the only thing that might stop him going after Cricket Scotland, the ECB and Haq et al personally is his financial circumstances.

He was interviewed in the Telegraph a while back talking about how seriously he considered suicide, it’s I think quite fortunate that he was getting work through The Grange, obviously with very much independent financial resources, and therefore hard for the powers that be to strong arm. I believe his teenage son has been sent anonymous death threats a few times.

Cricket has racism within it, like society, but the picture that’s been painted of the sport recently bears no resemblance to the diverse club circuit I play in and I know exists in Scotland as well. The efforts to prove the allegations made are one by one being exposed.

Good recovery from Klaasen and Miller and then undone with a very poor last 3 overs. Just 13 from them.

This is getting close. SL just had a good review to reverse an LBW so 89/4 - now 93/4 off 16.4.

I would back them but one wicket could change this

Proteas manage to restrict Bangladesh despite some Pakistan-esque fielding in the last 5 overs. This pitch and outfield is shithouse, but it sure does produce exciting finishes!

So South Africa have played their get out of jail card in the face of a decent effort by the Bangles. About half way through the Bangles innings thought here we go again another upset, but the Saffas kept their nerve and grabbed one from the jaws of defeat.

6/1
The Bangles batsman face after that catch was nearly the same one I had when Donald ran out Zulu against the Aussies.

Must say Baartman came from nowhere. His last over was outstanding.

Donald ran himself out. Dropped his bat , hesitated, stumbled, hesitated and then stumbled down the pitch some more. In interviews since he’s admitted there was an easy run there and should have made it at a canter.

Would be epic if it actually happened.

And it would also reinforce the golden rule of sports journalism: no Scotland team, in any sport, achieves anything on their own merit. Australia gaming the system with Scotland qualifying would be the perfect excuse to keep that trope alive.

Absolutely. We've always either done something underhand, or someone else (usually England) underperformed, or bad ref decisions, or the weather, or.....

Five penalty runs for taking too long between overs.

I bet you any money India wouldn't have been penalised for that. Bullshit.
