That was a clear knock-on by the Scottish prop reaching for the ball, clearly hit his fingertips.

Is it Tichtheid that’s been banging on about McLean?

And another. Nice line from Steyn. The kind of thing George North used to do for fun against us.

Crying shame about the state of Tonga's state of prep, hopefully they are able to make a better fist of it in the second half and take something out of the game.

McLean has been superb. No other word for it. Steyn has looked very good too. Kinghorn a mixed bag at 10.

Regarding the knock-on that wasn’t, I was surprised it wasn’t ruled out, but the decision was probably right. It went backwards off Schoeman and then hit Ritchie’s shoulder.

He's not played since the Lions through injury so hopefully it's just easing him back in

I think there is an element of that but even when we were all over them we were giving away too many stupid penalties. It’s really dumb

Harley, for all his experience has a brutal habit of spinning into poor positions in the tackle.

Kinghorn at 10 has been a miss for me, he has pretty much just shovelled the ball on and not threatened the line at all. Looking very ordinary against a limited Tongan side doesnt give any confidence he could do anything against a better side. Plus you cant leave that many points out there from kicks against a decent side and expect to win.

He’s been a bit meh. But given the circumstances he did his job really - 1st and 2nd choice 10’s unavailable and very young guys coming through so he filled the hole

I completely disagree on Kinghorn, he missed a couple of pots at goal but he was kicking from the touch line
He shovelled it on when that was the call but his quick hands opened the defence and the kick for Steyn’s first try (I think) was gorgeous off the cuff unstructured stuff, if it had been Finn the guy who has a hardon for him on here would be raging
