Another two-point margin today. Not good for the heart though at least in this one I was a neutral.

All inbred init

Good win to the Naki, still looking like a Lions v Evil Empire final, which will be one hell of a match.

For mine HB are a shambles this year and are still going to make the finals :shifty:

Could be convinced otherwise if they lift the shield next weekend, assuming Harbour don't surprise us all.

By geez there has been some bloody close games hasn't there? As a Naki man was pretty pleased with end result, but by christ they could of not kept me on edge of seat for so bloody long!
What's wrong with a good blow out score so I can relax?

Yep, comfortable win in the end.

Stevenson had one of his ropier games for a while.

Thought Higgins was very good (again) when he came on. He's an exciting young player.

Ykato - Otago doing battle in Hamilton. Dull and boring one out bosh.

Ykato lead 7 - 0 off a Cruden charge-down.

Cruden gets #2 from a show and go.

And then Sinkinson gets a 30 -2 (as in 30 metres from his own line to 2 metres from Otago's line).

Forwards barrell it over from the lineout. 21 - nil but they have the wind.

Not so well picked on today's games. Both much wider margins than I envisaged. Expected Otago to lose comfortably but that was a hiding. When you look at their team on paper, should never be that bad.

Cruden was excellent. It's great seeing some of the older guys coming back into the mix. We really do need to find a way to keep the NPC viable.

Taniwha rode into Orc territory and are leading the Orcs 26 - 20 with five mins to go.

And even more important, after Enzed and I watch Canterbury defeat Waikato tomorrow, we will hang around the stadium and watch the black Ferns take on the Wallaroos.

The Orcs snatch the win with a try under the posts after 80mins I’m yet another absolute nail biting ending.

Undeserved win. Auk can have all the firepower in the world out wide but they won't win a thing if their fwds are mullered where it matters. Ref was extremely liberal at the breakdown but Northland adapted to it and flooded contact area with aggression. Auk fwds simply didn't look up for the fight.

Even that last scrum, Northland were crushing it.

Meeting Enzed of this parish in 15 minutes for lunch then off to the stadium for a great double header, in filthy weather: raining and 13C.

Hope it's a great game despite the elements. Enjoy - and go, Waikato!

Pity the Wellington - Hawke's Bay game's on at the same time.

Canterbury ahead 21-20 at HT.

That was a fun first half. Both sides used the wind smartly. Could be the deciding factor with it being such a changeable day.

Waikato backs clearly more dangerous but the good guys still leading at half time

other spectators don't seem to appreciate my vocal support for the good guys

Possibly a good thing then, that I couldn't make it. I can be errr... slightly rude in my support.

Well played Waikato, desperation footy and they kept it together. Lethal attacking when they're moving it, great to watch.

Damn. Looks like I missed 2 crackers.

I hate these last rounds for FR picking though. You always doubt the commitment of sides already qualified.

The Waikato backs looked superb when they were throwing lovely passes for the player to run on to and employed some lovely running and support lines. It was a joy to watch. Don’t forget that Waikato are my second team so losing to them doesn’t hurt nearly as much as, say, losing to the Orcs or the scum from the capital.

Enjoyed both matches enormously.

You may have noticed that the music was not as overpowering as at previous games, there even being significant spells when there was no music. You have one Canterbury supporter to thank for that.
