2 more incidents at the w/e

1) The Willemse one which the whole world saw. Eventually. Red card for me: not least for the stupidity of learning nothing from previous reds for ruck exocetting. Not intentional on the eye area but the recklessness of it and what might have been the consequence deserves a ban beyond the simple clear out offence. Despite what Galthie says: and he'll be hoping LeRoux is fit again for Friday or he is in lock crisis with Tao out too.

2) This one

Looks like an entirely, pre-meditated gouge. The sort of one, if proven, should be a life ban from the game.

It's been a while since we've seen one, but there've been significant bans in the past for much milder contact with the eye area than Willemse managed (however unintentionally). He'll definitely cop one.

I was seething during the Wasps game that the officials didn't look into that incident. We were playing under advantage when Bassett was held up and gouged. Before Gopperth had taken the kick BT were replaying footage of a hand clearly scraping across Bassett's eye area (the second shot in the clip on that site). There was ample time and opportunity to review that then and it was inexplicably ignored. That first shot they showed during half time is even more damning and you'd have to think Carreras is looking at a ban on the Hartley/Ayoub scale.

Much as I think Ayoub should have been banned from rugby forever, I assume you mean Attoub?
