Was just about to post about this.
Another contrived, unneccesary competition
It'll fit well into the global rugby calendar.............not!!!

I don’t get where they expect the money, players or space in the calendar to come from.

I imagine some are hoping for a post covid bounce and increase in interest but surely everything needs to be focused on recovery of the existing game.

10s is a fine format if you want an abbreviated game. But the World club 10s died on its arse pretty quickly a few years ago didn’t it?

As was the Amsterdam version. At least I think it was.

It’s clearly a sly move to further abbreviate the current state of things while notsimply calling the game’s laws as written!

Speaking of, other than that one extremely hyped event, have we heard anything further about Rugby X?

I suspect we won't

Rugby Union has 7s and 15s, there's League if you want something different. Whoever's putting the money up for these unnecessary abbreviated versions of the game would be better off trying to expand or even just consolidate the core game.

A nonsense idea. As is the 100 ball cricket rubbish. Test match rugby and cricket are for me the pinnacle of team sport. I've recently been binging on Youtube Ashes packages. The Ashes cricket tests and All Blacks - Springbok matches are the ultimate watching experience for me.

Hong Kong Fat Boy 10s this weekend.

Organised by the pot bellied pigs and HKRFU foundation.

Proceeds towards rugby development and underprivileged kids in the Philippines.

These are the tournaments we need to see more of rather than the ultra-commercial bollox
