have similar issues so was thinking 8ish at Teuchters in the West End, but very open to anything else

East end, old town is easier for me but pretty much happy with whatever best suits everyone else.

Not that my opinions should be the deciding factor, but I'd go for the Guilford Arms since it shouldn't be too rammed on a Wednesday and is an excellent boozer.
