At least he'll coach a champion team. :
Most of our top coaches starts at Varsity Cup.

Bearing in mind he was part of the SA 2019 RWC winning coaching set up, it looks like he's going backwards!!!OomStruisbaai wrote: Mon Jan 02, 2023 6:22 pm At least he'll coach a champion team. :![]()

As far as I remember he always were forwards coach. This is his start as head coach. Maties is the perfect place to start. Dobson started with Ikeys (Uni of Cape Town) unearthing Etsebeth , Huw Jones as players and winning the Varsity Cup. Maties has dominate the Varsity Cup over the years and have probably the richest of player talent in SA. The current Cheetah coach , Hawies Fourie coached Maties a few years ago.SaintK wrote: Tue Jan 03, 2023 8:49 amBearing in mind he was part of the SA 2019 RWC winning coaching set up, it looks like he's going backwards!!!OomStruisbaai wrote: Mon Jan 02, 2023 6:22 pm At least he'll coach a champion team. :![]()

That was my immediate thought. Being scrum coach of a URC / National squad is far more impressive than a varsity coach.assfly wrote: Mon Feb 20, 2023 9:44 amSaintK wrote: Tue Jan 03, 2023 8:49 amBearing in mind he was part of the SA 2019 RWC winning coaching set up, it looks like he's going backwards!!!OomStruisbaai wrote: Mon Jan 02, 2023 6:22 pm At least he'll coach a champion team. :![]()
