Rugby is just a game ffs.

Nope, sorry I don't get it.

Go home, Support your wife/mother of the kid.

Awful. Not going to judge him as we don't know what he is going through or what conversations were had before he left home.

French Papers mention long illness so most likely some kind of cancer.

Anyway sad story.

Ja I agree. It was weird to see him signing autographs after the last match.

Fuck everything else, get on the next damn plane and hopefully you can make it back for the QF.

I appreciate how delicate this is.
Just saying, we expect too much from rugby players, and it has all just gone a bit much now.

You lot don't seem to be able to stand outside and look in.
Setting a precedent for sticking around, missing funerals, even when your kid passes, isn't a culture the world of work needs injected jnto its veins, particularly a full on, ultra competitive macho culture like Rugby.

It's bad enough we have fans (like Tim from Eggchasers) saying stuff like " the risks (CTE, Motor Neurons and Early onset dementia) are all a very acceptable part of the "game", and I enjoy the high risk nature of rugby"..

Now we have this?

It's insane.

Chris Robshaw still has sleepless nights and has something akin to PTSD because England lost to Wales, in 2015, in a world cup.

We don't want to pour the possibility of that on top of someones raw grief.

It's ludicrously cruel mun.

As a professional player, everything in the rugby realm is a commercial asset. Everything you say in the rugby world, every good deed, every sporting gesture, the things you wear, your hair plugs, your teeth, your qualifications, your back story, charity giving, everything you do, every little bit..publicised, commoditised, marketed. All added to the commercial feelgood glow of Rugby. If it was up to the Rugby industry we would all lose sight of the fact it is just a game, a blatant money making exercise and a battle for state funding and TV money......and think of Rugby as a fight to sustain a nations identity and soul, held together by a band of rugby brothers that will sacrifice everything for a cause...
You watch how much xfactor reverence the TV commentators will shovel onto this poor fella.
It's all a bit much.
Shouldn't happen.

Kermit, how do you know that they didn't talk it through and the son wanted his dad to play and win. Would the sons wishes trump any of your misgivings?

Secondly, WTF has it got to do with you?
