The Herald article refers to it as ‘New Zealand’s national stadium’. Is it? It certainly hosts the biggest games but I’ve never really thought we had one. Not like the NH nations for example.

They've been using that line in their marketing for a while. One of the great things about our NATIONAL game is our test quality rugby stadiums across our little country.
We don't need or want to play all our rugby internationals in one big stadium in our biggest city, like so many other countries.

It'll always be Eden Park to me. ASB is the Cantab stadium.
In fact, when the new waterfront stadium is built in 2062, they could shift Eden Park's name to the new stadium for old times sake.
