My abiding memory of Nobby is him skipping about like a kid sans front teeth.

Agree with you OP, a prototypical hard man footballer of that era, proper working class Mancunian lad. Definitely someone you could relate to.
In addition to his playing career he was also involved in the youth set up at United in the 80s and early 90s.
