I haven't used them myself but they have been getting some poor reviews on a facebok craft beer group. Mostly around deliveries taking a long time.
Cheers. Not fussed about when I get them so will have a wee recce of what they've got to offer
Honest Brew are ok, though the can take an age to process and deliver
I prefer these guys and they can turn round an order and delivery in 48 hours. Free delivery first order promo at the moment

Re darkstar, their APA (American Pale) was one of the beers that really got me into beer, alongside jaipur (both cask).
Darkstar APA is on tap in a proper old fashioned Irish pub that shows the rugby, it's about a ten minute walk from here and you have to go past a really good kebab shop on your way back - the perfect end to the perfect evening.

The Bugle, just off Lewes Rd.

Has your mate run it for a long time? I just wonder if it’s the same from twenty years ago, the bloke who started Dark Star.
I used to go to the Evening Star all the time as I used to live less than five minutes from it, but since we moved I only go there a couple of times a year, it’s always a bit busy for my liking tbh, but that speaks well of the place.

There are lots of very good pubs in Brighton, we’re lucky.

Nope, different people. I know the people who ran it 10 or so years ago, the wickhams, who now live in bristol and work for lost and grounded.

This lad is called mark and he's been involved I the pub for over 5 years at least now

I didn't realise they were a supplier rather than brewery and also add on a tenner for membership. Poke it!

This thread needs a bump.

I grabbed some Helles & Keller Pils from Lost & Grounded. The Helles is very good and I'll get more but I still prefer Augustiner (which is also cheaper) I have revised my opinion of their Keller Pils upwards though. First time it didn't make a big impression but the recent ones were excellent.

My local brewery - Big Smoke - are doing a decent session pils so I cycled over to get a dozen. While it's good, it's not as good as Duration or L&G while being more expensive. I'll happily drink it in their pubs but for home use there are better options.

Hoping to get up to Duration for a visit next month as I'm less than 2 hours away. Have sampled their full range apart from the new Italian Pilsner and haven't come across a a duff one, they are so well balanced and clean!

I am looking at the 4 week weather forecast. Hoping it will be dry enough to sit in a beer garden and have a pint from a barrel. If not, waterproofs will be out.

I just want a pint. Not from bottle or a can. A real pint.

I have started to get beer from a place round the corner from my work, The Crafty Duck. https://craftyduck.co.uk/

Makes a change from the Turkish Grog Shop that's on the parade of shops round the corner from my house, although they still supply the impromptu stuff, Prosecco for an evening's tipple with my better half, and the crap lager of dubious origin which often accompanies screaming at England in the 6N.

Table booked for girlfriend's birthday on the 12th and my weather app has a 50%chance of snow!!

Hal- decent selection there.

I've said it before, but if you come across any of boxcar's offerings atmo, try them, really impressed with the stuff they're turning out, including their dark mild.

Also, pressure drop have remade rock rivers trees, a very good west coast ipa

Are you lot 2 hour slots at the pub? It was advisory last time round up here but think it's mandatory later this month.

Going to give the early rush to pubs a miss though have one booked on 21st for daughters birthday. They've got a good beer selection including a few from their Norfolk brewery, bloody good food as well
My first pint will be at my club on the Saturday, sounds like it is all well organised and will be great to put money over the bar and see some revenue generated

Thinking of visiting Boxcar in the summer. Had a few of their beers recently and they are spot on. Looks an easy walk from Liverpool St or I can get to Bethnal Green on the tube.

My preferred ones are Needoo Grill, Tayyabs & Lahore Kebab House. All BYO. For something a little smarter, Dishoom (next to The Smoking Goat) is also good.

A Stein at Katzenjammers followed by a curry at Needoo Grill is top of my list of "things to do once we are allowed to"

an afternoon/evening consisting of a selection of venues from; mother kelly's, bethnall green tavern, dundee arms, old st brewery, boxcar, king's arms followed up with a lahore/needos (fuck tayyabs, but that's a longer story) and maybe a nightcap at the white hart would not require much walking and would be a pretty decent trip

Unexpected developments at cloudwater. They already collaborate on an ipa with brewdog that is available in Tesco's and brewdog occasionally rebrew it.

Now cloudwater has teamed up with 4 v small breweries to produce a four pack that will be brewed by brewdog and sold in Tesco's for £10. Brewdog and cloudwater are not taking any profit, so that will go to the smaller breweries who wouldn't be able to access this market. In the 4 pack are 2 beers brewed by BAME owned breweries, one by a trans owned brewery (dinsdale, you know her) and one low alcohol beer.

Interesting to see how this goes. Beer twitter is up in arms about this but can't really seem to decide why.

I love it when the blow ins decide to lecture me about what an ipa is, which in their book can only mean a massive neipa juice bomb. They know no better, bless their little spectrumy socks.

Don't get me wrong - arriving in Oz after being a Cellarman in the UK was a distinct shock.... .the new wave stuff is way better.

But, I do feel like an old fart in bars when you hear stuff like that

You slightly miss my point. I agree the modern stuff is better, but over here at the moment the buzz word beer is neipa, so they believe that's the only style of ipa. I've seen someone refuse to accept that a west coast ipa was actually an ipa.

8 years ago, it was all about black ipas :::spit:::

This I also know - But, I can't stand the modern iterations.

Luckily for me, my favourite beer in Oz is a proper Midlands style Brown Ale

Now cloudwater has teamed up with 4 v small breweries to produce a four pack that will be brewed by brewdog and sold in Tesco's for £10. Brewdog and cloudwater are not taking any profit, so that will go to the smaller breweries who wouldn't be able to access this market. In the 4 pack are 2 beers brewed by BAME owned breweries, one by a trans owned brewery (dinsdale, you know her) and one low alcohol beer.

Interesting to see how this goes. Beer twitter is up in arms about this but can't really seem to decide why.
I imagine that would be one of Dante's circles of Hell.

I LOVE beer, but by Christ, the current craft nerds seem to think they invented it.
I love it when the blow ins decide to lecture me about what an ipa is, which in their book can only mean a massive neipa juice bomb. They know no better, bless their little spectrumy socks.
I sense your strength of feeling
